Purpose of Job:
To execute and implement interoperability certification services in accordance with relevant ICT standards, the SITA Act and regulation as well as the enterprise architecture for Government.
Responsibilities:
•Develop new ICT standards and specifications according to Government requirements in order to address risks to the South African Government
•Verify and certify OEM products against established MIOS standards
•Adhere to Technology Certification Process write all unit activities (specification, evaluation, certification and consultation)
•Provide technology consultation and advice to Government clients
•Perform focussed technology research inclusive of collaboration with industry standards bodies and OEMs
•Maintain and control Lab facility, assets in line with SOP and other ICT standards and frameworks
•Develop and verify Lab test results repository
•Identify and/or develop new test procedures and benchmark.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum: 3-year National Diploma/Degree in ICT-related qualification – at least NQF level 6 or a verified / certified alternative equivalent @ NQF Level 6.
Preferred: Preference will be given to candidates with a 4-year Computer or Electronic Engineering Degree or equivalent at (NQF Level 7).
Certifications: A+ and N+ (Equivalent certification such as Cisco). COBIT, ITIL or other IT architecture-related certifications would be an added advantage.
Experience: 5 to 6 years of experience in ICT infrastructure/ ICT Security/ End User Computing including:
Experience in the ICT field Experience in Lab operations. Performing Testing of ICT products. Configuration, testing and maintenance of hardware (e.g. laptops, servers, network equipment, converged communication, multifunction devices, etc.); consulting and interacting with relevant stakeholders, e.g. OEMs, and Industry standards bodies. Compilation of vendor agnostic specifications. Experience of working with Proofs of Concept, pilot projects and assisting to adopt a new technology will be an added benefit.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of: Corporate and ICT Governance. Development, Implementation and Integration Methodologies, including Testing, Packaging and Release. IT Quality Management, knowledge of business operations and systems, requirements process, knowledge of IIBA principles and practices. Business Process Management. IT Security and ICT Standards Legislative environment and IT Legislation. COTS (Commercial of the Shelf) Products. OSS (Open-Source Software) Products. Project Management. Application Maintenance and Support.
Hosting and Converged Communication. Enterprise architecture framework (TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF,
MODAF, GWEA Framework, MIOS).
