Brand Experience Manager (Events)

Description of the role 

The Brand Experience Manager (Event Manager) within the CIB Marketing division, specifically serving the Investec for Intermediaries (IFI) client segment in the Western Cape region, is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of client and staff events. This role is pivotal in translating business objectives into impactful brand experiences that reflect Investec’s promise of being “Out of the Ordinary.” The manager ensures that each event is professionally executed, brand-aligned, and delivers measurable value to both clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Planning
•    Develop event strategies aligned with business and marketing objectives.
•    Create detailed event plans covering pre-event, during-event, and post-event stages.
•    Design bespoke client experiences tailored to segment needs and preferences.

Execution & Operations
•    Oversee all logistical aspects including venue selection, catering, AV, and vendor coordination.
•    Ensure smooth operations and anticipate potential risks with mitigation plans.
•    Maintain detailed documentation and communication throughout the event lifecycle.

Budget & Procurement
•    Create modular budgets with contingencies and manage reconciliations.
•    Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and ensure adherence to procurement policies.
•    Limit extravagance and ensure all budget approvals are documented.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement
•    Collaborate with segment leads and business stakeholders to align event goals.
•    Maintain strong client relationships through personalized engagement and feedback mechanisms.
•    Conduct post-event surveys and analyze satisfaction metrics.

Brand & Compliance
•    Uphold Investec’s brand image and client privacy across all event touchpoints.
•    Ensure all marketing collateral and vendor conduct align with brand standards.
•    Secure necessary approvals for artwork, budgets, and communications.

Performance & Reporting
•    Track and report on attendance, satisfaction, logistical, financial, and brand experience metrics.
•    Use tools like Cvent to manage invitations, dashboards, and reporting.

Qualification, Experience and Skills

•    Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
•    Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in event planning and execution within a corporate or financial services environment
•    Competent in financial planning and cost control
•    Well versed in all the Microsoft Office suite applications
•    Competency with Cvent and Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous.
•    Creative with a high attention to detail
•    Able to travel and work outside of normal business operating hours 
•    Rigorous cost management 
•    Can work independently as well as part of a Team.

Legal Risk Banking Consultant (Cape Town)

Description

Manage the legal risk of the bank whilst maintaining commerciality, which includes, inter alia, instructions of bonds, authorizing payments, vetting documents and drafting guarantees. Perusing entity documents to establish locus standi of the entity entering into the contractual obligation.

Key Responsibilities

•    Provide a legal advisory and support service with regards to: Instalment sale agreements, Secured and unsecured loans, home loans, building bonds, commercial properties, commercial developments etc.
•    Instructing bonds to panel attorneys and managing the file until registration, including liaising with attorneys and managing queries, checking signed loan documents and ensuring all special conditions in the loan agreement are fulfilled prior to bond registration
•    Advising banking consultants on legal aspects of deal structure
•    Drafting nonstandard clauses for agreements
•    Vetting of documents and authorizing payments
•    Review credit minutes and ensure that all condition precedents on minutes are fulfilled, and security is perfected
•    Review property valuations and ensure that all valuation conditions are fulfilled

 Qualifications, Experience and Skills

•    Bachelor of Law, Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer
•    2 to 4 years conveyancing experience
•    Good general commercial law background and experience
•    Working knowledge of FICA and NCA
•    Experience in contract law and drafting of contracts
•    Banking experience and corporate legislation an advantage

Cloud and Infrastructure Architect

Role Purpose


The Cloud and Infrastructure Architect will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native infrastructure solutions across Investec’s hybrid estate. This position is instrumental in establishing the architectural direction for Azure and on-premises platforms, ensuring alignment with Investec’s digital transformation strategy, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence objectives.


Key Responsibilities


Architecture & Design  

Define and maintain Investec’s cloud architectural frameworks for Azure and AWS, including landing zones, networking, identity, and access controls. 
•    Lead infrastructure architecture design for IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and cost-effectiveness.
•    Collaborate with engineering teams to curate and evolve CAS (Curated Application Services) modules for Terraform-based deployments. 


Cloud Enablement & Migration

•    Orchestrate the migration of on-premises infrastructure services to cloud platforms, implementing rehost, replatform, and rearchitect strategies. 
•    Oversee operational acceptance testing and production sign-off for cloud platforms. 
•    Support the IaaS migration factory team in automation and pattern development. 


Security & Compliance

•    Ensure all infrastructure designs adhere to Investec’s InfoSec, Operational Risk, and IT Risk standards.


Collaboration & Leadership

•    Coordinate closely with Platform Engineering, CloudOps, and Service Reliability teams to ensure seamless integration and operational readiness.
•    Engage with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
•    Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.


Required Skills & Experience


•    Minimum 8 years’ experience in infrastructure architecture, with at least 3 years specialized in cloud-native environments.
•    Comprehensive expertise in Azure cloud services, including networking, identity, compute, and storage.
•    Thorough understanding of API-first design, DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
•    Experience with enterprise-grade security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
•    Demonstrated proficiency in leading large-scale cloud migrations and hybrid infrastructure transformations.


Preferred Qualifications

•    Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
•    Experience with FinOps, cost optimisation, and cloud billing models.
•    Familiarity with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and platform engineering methodologies is highly beneficial.

Key Requirements

Technical Skills
•    Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and its services
•    Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Azure Resource Manager templates, Bicep)
•    Experience working directly with Development or Product teams 
•    Technical understanding of a solution end-to-end 
•    Excellent understanding of networking concepts, security practices, and system architecture
•    Ability to write scripts in languages such as PowerShell for automation or data processing
•    Pragmatic approach to solutions and designs 
•    Ability to document and create technical designs for the Azure solutions 

Experience

Digital Engineer (UK Offshore – Corporate Banking Technology)

Description

Investec is looking for an experienced Digital Engineer to join its Asset Lending Technology team based in Sandton, supporting key UK business lines, especially UK Asset Finance. The role focuses on developing and maintaining Client and Broker portals, with a strong emphasis on front-end development. You’ll work closely with developers in both South Africa and the UK, gaining deep insight into the Asset Lending business.   • Exposure to Azure services (App Services, Functions, DevOps Pipelines, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Experience integrating front end applications with secure backend services and databases (SQL or Cosmos DB)
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and general web standards
  • Experience with test automation and maintaining QA standards across the stack
  • Comfort working in Agile and DevOps environments, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
  • AZ900 (Azure Fundamentals) certification advantageous
  • Financial Services knowledge & experience preferred

    Your experience:
  • 5-8 years of experience, ideally in full-stack or front-end-focused roles
