FACILITATOR: CENTRE of SPECIALISATION (CoS) – WELDER TRADE

Requirements
- At least a relevant recognized three-year qualification (REQV13) and/or qualified as a Welder with trade test passed (red seal)
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in the welder trade
- Experience in education and training
- Experience in Blended learning, i.e., innovative teaching practices with the use of educational technology
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Good administrative skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to assess and moderate
- Knowledge of the Welder industry, the legislative and regulatory environment, as well as knowledge of, and experience in implementing Occupational Health and Safety regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities
- Providing theoretical and practical training applicable to the Welder trade according to predetermined curriculum and lesson frameworks.
- Assess and/or moderate theoretical and practical competencies of learners in the programme against pre-determined requirements.
- Ensure that training equipment, workshops and related resources are available and in working order.
- Conducting regular inventory control.
- Perform administrative and management functions, including preparing and submitting reports to relevant authorities.
- Attend industry and training workshops as well as other prescribed training to ensure own continuous professional development.
- Plan the delivery of the qualification in such a way that the learners are prepared to complete and pass the relevant assessments and trade test.
- Manage the scheduling of learners for theory and industry placement according to the dual vocational learning programme.
