Core Description

Accountable for architecting and designing comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements in support of a given portfolio. Responsible for partnering with key roles players (e.g. project managers, business analysts, enterprise architects, business clients, solution providers etc.) to create solutions that are aligned to architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet the financial targets (cost and benefits). Within the solution development lifecycle this role will be accountable for solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case. Provide end-to-end solution design and consulting during the detailed design, build, testing and deployment phases, and re-engage to perform benefits realization.

Job Responsibilities

–    Engage with Enterprise Architects, PMO, SI leads, Business Engagement, Vendors, Partners, the TGIT stakeholders, Telkom Business stakeholders and the Solution Architecture functions to support, execute business solutions, projects and business conceptual ideas and initiatives – Conceptualize ideas into solutions
–    Execution of CRs/ projects/ ideas to create end-to-end solutions according to the best practices
–    Ensures comprehensive and complete work practices and processes are in place and effective
–    Responsible for assisting with communications and marketing efforts for the Enterprise Solution Architecture
–    Drive continuous solutions improvement and perform the role as a change agent within TGIT and Telkom – this includes
internal and external communications around TGIT capabilities, new technology trends, business and revenue opportunities etc.
–    Support systems turndown, systems unification, standardization, best practices, function and process optimization efficiencies
–    Define and align solutions with Enterprise Architecture strategy and roadmap for Telkom
–    Define best practices, standards and re-usable architecture solution patterns
–    Strategic alignment with the agreed Business Architecture
–    Strategic alignment of solutions to Security Architecture, Data Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture and Integration Architecture
–    Develop design patterns based on adopted architecture technologies and best practices
–    Drive the use and adoption of SOA Enterprise approach design patterns and models within Telkom
–    Proactively and continuously analyses and detect critical deficiencies within the master Enterprise Architecture and operational domains and recommend solutions for improvement
–    Continuous solution architecture improvements using holistic thinking/ systems approach
–    Collaborate with all relevant Telkom domains to communicate the Enterprise Solution Architecture plans and direction on a continuous basis
–    Develop and continuously improve Architecture design documentation for internal, vendor and partner consumption
–    Develop and communicate potential business models or opportunities to various stakeholders in Telkom
–    Develop and communicate Architecture rollout strategies and data migration solutions
–    Support the development of strategic business case and high level Program plan
–    Drive end-to-end solution designs until completion
–    Oversee and define all aspects of the design solutions and enforce the compliance with the Enterprise Architecture principles, patterns, standards and best practices
–    Initiate, conduct and facilitate sessions with various stakeholders (JAD sessions). Ability to communicate the outcome of the sessions according to defined business needs and possible IT solutions
–    Identify and communicate risks and opportunities associated with projects that require enterprise architecture solutions
–    Provide clear direction and visibility with regard to technical decisions taken from an Enterprise Architecture perspective which impact on solutions and overall strategy

–    Closely collaboration with vendors and partners continuously and especially during the end-to-end solution design phase
–    Establish re-usable end-to-end design patterns and heuristics

Responsible for the effective management of a Regional Integration Network Planning section, which ultimately contributes to an efficient and reliable network. Should conduct analysis and implementation of current and future technology changes, which impact on Openserserve’s Communications Network thus ensuring a positive customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of Regional Integration Network Planning in accordance with the business objectives:
– Compile and maintain aligned NMPs for the Regional Switched Circuit Network (SCNet), ATMNet, Regional Core Transport Network, Distribution Network, Access Network, Non-Voice Network, Energy and Fibre Network, Facilities and International Network
– Develop and drive an operational plan
– Gather requirements from key role players
– Identify targets and goals for environment
– Conduct Network Engineering Audits
– Ensure Network and Facility Optimisation through utilisation monitoring and forecast analysis techniques
