Role Purpose
Ensure that claims are lodged against the road accident fund for treatment of injuries sustained during a motor vehicle accident and that the scheme is reimbursed the costs of such treatment on finalisation of the claims.

Requirements
Matric
Minimum of 1 to 2 years relevant experience
Experience in medical claims assessing
Experience in identifying whether a member is able to obtain compensation from another party for treatment of injuries
Experience in or at least knowledge of procedures involved in lodging claims against responsible third parties
Ability to draft effective correspondence in both English and Afrikaans
Report writing skills
MS Excel and MS Word Skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Identifying possible third party claims.
Sourcing possible MVA cases for investigation to establish merits.
Obtain an undertaking, identifying medical treatment due to injuries.
Forward a request to the member/attorney for the respective scheme’s undertaking to be completed and signed once it has been confirmed that there is a valid claim against the Road Accident Fund.
Obtaining copies of accounts for medical treatment from the various Medical Practises.
Submitting Medical Claims Schedules to attorneys for lodging Past Medical Claims with the RAF.
Dealing with telephone and correspondence queries from members, attorneys and the RAF.
Archive all correspondence on member’s correspondence file.
Follow up all existing third party claims and ensure that scheme is reimbursed amounts claimed from third party.
Check all payments against benefits utilised and ensure that they correspond, close file and delete filter, if not obtain settlement agreement or query settlement with RAF.
Administration responsibilities.
Propose system enhancements that will ensure better workflow.
Monitoring and enforcing changes with regards to RAF legislation.
Engage with clients in a client centric manner Client Services).
Investigate client queries within the agreed service level and ensure that client receives timeous feedback.
Escalate client queries to the relevant department or stakeholder.
Provide accurate information and advice to clients and stakeholders in order to ensure that the client receives the appropriate after sales services.

Role Purpose
To ensure commission is paid accurately, in line with legislation and controlled as required by the scheme and Medical schemes act.

Requirements
5 – 8 years’ experience in Broker remuneration and management, and client services.
A minimum of 5 years’ managerial/leadership experience
A minimum of 5 years senior management experience within a major health care organisation, health system setting, or large multi-operational corporate environment in complex industries similar to healthcare or health insurance.
Proven transaction management experience, demonstrating strong financial acumen and knowledge of process and outcomes.
Profound understanding of membership, underwriting and billing functions.
Familiarity with the Medical Scheme’s act and regulatory requirements, familiarity with the FSCA .
Understand the membership onboarding process, membership lifecycle, membership maintenance processes and impacted value chain as the commission outcome is based on all the above
Knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and risk management principles
General knowledge of financial and IT systems and business processes within line of business systems (i.e. understand workflow and link to financial impact)
Knowledge of the financial services and insurance industry
Knowledge of Council of Medical schemes and the medical schemes act
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee accounting practices in line with group standards and ensure that cost allocations are aligned to the business methodology.
Manage the implementation of segment finance polices, procedure and controls in line with Group Finance frameworks.
Manage the implementation and adherence to financial controls on all line of business and financial systems and ensure that authorisation levels are adhered to and raise any exceptions with the relevant stakeholder.
Oversee the accuracy, validity and authorisation of journals processed within the area of responsibility.
Manage the creation and maintenance of records on the financial management system to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and documents.
Manage the resolutions of financial queries.
Manage the reconciliations of the transactions on the bank statement to the General Ledger, between line of business systems and payment systems.
