INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY: JUNIOR HIGH (GRADES 7- 9) ART TEACHER

Description

The International School of Martyrs (ISM) is the largest international school in Libya and the oldest international school in North Africa – our school was established in 1954 as the Oil Companies School to educate the children of oil executives and diplomats posted to Libya.

Our school is accredited by the Republic of Ireland’s State Examinations Commission and our students write the Irish Leaving Certificate exams at the end of their grade 12 year. Our school is currently a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Our school is also accredited by the Libyan Ministry of Education.

We are seeking a resilient and committed Junior High (Grade 7 – 9) Art Teacher – with the ability to teach another subject to join us for the 2026/2027 academic year (September 2026 start).

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified teacher (Bachelor of Education/Undergraduate degree + PGCE/HDE). Candidates with a degree in the subject (E.g. BFA, BTech) who have teaching/tutoring experience, but do not have a PGCE, may be considered for the role.
  • Be fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Applications from recent graduates are welcomed and encouraged!
