DEPUTY DIRECTOR AND SENIOR RESEARCHER: TEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Key Performance Areas:

03 X INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGERS
(1 of each Architecture, Quantity Surveying, and Civil / Structural Engineering and

Three (3) Year Fixed Term Contract
The purpose of this position is to provide professional project management and technical
leadership in the planning, coordination and delivery of the University’s infrastructure projects,
ensuring alignment with institutional strategic objectives and the Infrastructure Master Plan.
The three positions are intended to provide discipline-specific expertise across
Architecture, Quantity Surveying, and Civil/Structural Engineering/Construction
Management within an integrated infrastructure delivery environment.

Minimum Requirements:
- NQF 7 qualification such as BTech or BSc or Advanced Diploma in the Built

Engineering/Construction Management. - A minimum of 7 years’ experience in infrastructure project management, including
management of large-scale built environment projects with exposure to financial
control and reporting - Proven ability in planning, coordinating, and directing multiple projects across different
sites concurrently. - Demonstrated experience in contract management, including administration of JBCC,
NEC or similar contracts. - Experience in project financial management, including budgeting, cost control and
reporting. - Experience in procurement processes and tender management within a regulated
environment - Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including National Building
Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety, and construction-related policies - Proficiency in the use of project management tools and standard computer packages
(including spreadsheets and reporting systems) - Must be professionally registered with the relevant statutory council in the applicable
discipline: SACAP (Professional Architect), SACQSP (Professional Quantity
Surveyor), ECSA (Professional Engineer), and SACPCMP (Construction Manager or
Professional Construction Manager), etc. - Valid driver’s licence
Recommendations:
1 Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent will be advantageous)

and development of learning content for blended learning. - Experience working within an academic and/or academic development environment.
