• Identifies maintenance problems of the vehicle and reports such problems to the Supervisor in a timeous and accurate manner.
• Communicates any problems experienced and risks identified during shift with other Operators on shift in a timeous and accurate manner to maximize shift efficiency and ensures the safety of other Operators.
• Assists in achieving production targets and identify opportunities to improve operations.
• Conducts risk assessments as per the check list book.
• Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.

• Operates the Drill Rig to drill blast holes in the correct places according to drill plan to ensure effective penetration and utilization of equipment and to achieve set targets and standards.
• Ensures that drilling is done in supported and ventilated ends and that drill holes are of the correct depth according to specified standards.
• Continuously ensures that required drilling consumables are in place and that water and diesel requirements are met as per safe standard operating procedures.
• Operates other pieces of mobile equipment for which the Operator has an operating license if required such as diesel trucks, hazardous chemicals trucks, water trucks, lifting equipment such as high up, dozers, 777s, tire dozers and graders.
• Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.

• Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.
