Professional Officer-Labour Relations
Requirements
- An appropriate relevant 3-year qualification in Human Resources or
relevant related field. - Two (2) – five (5) years’ experience at a professional level within the
Employee Relations/Labour Relations field - Theoretical and practical exposure to the broader Labour Relations
field - Incumbent requires practical exposure to the labour dispute
resolution processes specifically arbitrations
Key Performance Areas
- Provide specialist advice to the organization on a wide range of
employee relations issues with the aim of minimizing labour disputes
and /or safeguarding the interest of the organization - Provide a specialist corporate consultation service to line manager
and other stakeholders pertaining to broad Employee Relations issues - Provide feedback to departments and directorates on disputes at
external disputes forum - To ensure effective, efficient and adequate development by
representing the City in external dispute resolution proceedings - Representing the City in disputes resolution proceedings which
include condonation and conciliation proceedings, and providing
strategic support/assistance and or representation to SPO’s in
arbitration proceedings - Ensuring high standards of written communication to a variety of
stake holders in senior management - Serve as a key liaison with the Legal Services department pertaining
to all labour related matters.

Senior Professional Officer Services Liaison
Requirements
- A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification
- A higher qualification will be advantageous
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a Finance
environment that relates to Municipal Finances as well
as Revenue Debtors with at least 3 years’ supervisory
experience - A minimum of 3 years’ data analysis experience in a financial
environment - At least 2 years working experience with SQL database
queries as well as programs such as Python or “R” - Proficiency in Microsoft Applications with Advanced Excel.
- Valid code B, EB or C drivers licence required
Key Performance Areas
- Report on trends, customer behaviours and dunning
efficiencies, in order to optimise revenue collection. - Identify and define the immediate, short- and long-term
objectives and priorities for the respective units responsible
for various debt management processes - Analyse data pertaining to outstanding debt of the City’s
Customers, debt collection activities and possible debt relief
initiatives. - Compile dashboards and provide progress reports on debt
collection activities. - Conduct regular audits on the activities, processes, transactions
and documentation within the respective Debt Management
sections - Identify and analyse and the arrears database of targeted debtor
accounts

Requirements
- A BTech/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Post-graduate qualification(s) specific to transport planning
or active mobility will be advantageous - Registered as Candidate Engineering Technologist with ECSA
- At least three years (post first relevant tertiary qualification)
appropriate experience in transport planning and conceptual
design of Non-motorised Transport (NMT) infrastructure - Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, proficiency in
Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and CAD

Senior Professional Officer – HV Circuits
Requirements
- BEng or BSc Electrical Engineering degree and registered as
Pr Eng with ECSA. - 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience post qualification.
- Familiar with the requirements of the OHSA Act and operating
regulations as pertaining to the HV electrical environment. - Technical proficiency in the high voltage environment.
- Valid driver’s license – Code B
Key Performance Areas
•Leading and participating in the planning of large and
complex research projects and investigations to obtain
information for the operation, maintenance, repairs and
serviceability of new and existing plant, equipment and
technologies.
- Providing a high level consulting and advisory service
across the High Voltage Division, including parties external
to the organisation on policy and strategy issues.
•Performing investigations and audit enquiries into system/
equipment failures and maintenance management
performances.
•Monitoring high voltage asset conditions using international
and national standards.
•Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, setting
priorities for all project work including the budget approvals.
•Coordinating outages with Network Control, Distribution
Managers and Supervisors and High Voltage operational field
staff and technical support staff.
•Leading, coordinating and facilitating meetings with
management, internal and external clients and fellow
professionals to consolidate information on projects,
programs, processes policies, technology developments
and systems.
•Writing reports and making presentations on professional
matters and communicating results of conducted research to
internal and external clients.
•Preparing reports on faulty or damaged equipment within the
high voltage network.
