Site Security Coordinator

Responsibilities

What we are looking for: We are looking for a Site Security Coordinator: Eastern Cape, who will be based at Britos Bakery. 

  • As directed by the Business Unit leadership, the Global Security Director (SA) and in collaboration with the PepsiCo Office of Global Security, ensure that the premises allocated to, benefit from effective and sustainable security programs that mitigate risk to our people, assets and objectives while protecting PepsiCo Brands.
  • Execute operational implementation of strategic planning as directed by Security Director – Global Security (SA) in conjunction with Area Security Manager and/or Assistant area Security Manager
  • Physically located in Brittos Bakery, Eastern Cape, South Africa, the role would serve as a Business Unit asset in responding to all emerging security risks and incidents on the allocated and dedicated premises.
  • Role will be responsible for the protection of our people and Assets in Eastern Cape. Three (3) Premises . FTE of  550.

Accountabilities: 

  • In line with the Country broader strategy, implement the Site Security Plan to identify, assess and mitigate risks to PepsiCo’s associates, facilities, proprietary information, and brand/reputation.
  • Form part of the Site Crisis ManagementTeam, with execution of security functions as part of the Business Continuity Plans of the premises.
  • Ensure that the premises is compliant with the Site security plan (technological ,Procedural, Manned guarding ,Architectural )
  • Maintain strong working relationships with, and provide consultation to, local management teams.
  • Plan and oversee periodic security self-assessments and bi-annual security risk assessment on the premises in order to identify critical vulnerabilities and to assist in closing these risks through cost-effective, best practice security enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with national and local security, emergency response, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities as well as with security managers of other large multinational companies.
  • Ensure compliance with PepsiCo EMEA Security Risk Management System and supporting standards and procedures.
  • Assist in delivering security awareness for PepsiCo associates and training programs to security associates.
  • Advise and assist before, during and after security incidents, including on-the-spot risk assessments and security advice to site leaders.

  • During strike operations or labor disputes provide training to security guards and employees in strike protocols.
  • Oversee security guard companies to leverage economies of scale and lower costs. Implement and manage a effective KPI management system in accordance with Sector Security, and evaluate the service provided by the 3P Security providers on a monthly basis.
  • Manage the 3P Security Providers and evaluate their service on a monthly basis according to the set KPI’s.
  • Ensure the continued professional development of his/her security team, to include the identification of suitable individuals in longer-term succession planning.
  • Implementation of all Security Policies, Plans and Site SOP’s
  • Report Incidents immediately to Line Manager and ensure compiling of reports according to Security Policies.
  • To review the recording of CCTV on a daily basis to ensure that there are no irregularities.
  • In conjunction with Control Room Co-ordinator provide the required evidence in the event of any security incident and support EHS on any Safety Incidents evidence if and when required

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding business environment;
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience; 3 years Security experience in private sector (preferably industrial sectors) with accountabilities and key measures listed above;
  • Knowledge of best security practices, principles and objectives;
  • Well-refined interpersonal skills;
  • Security PSIRA ( Grade A) qualification.

What we’re looking for: We’re looking for a Maintenance Planner Based at our Upington Dried Fruit Plant to join our team.

  • Coordinate and control all planned and corrective maintenance activities across the raisin manufacturing site, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Plan, sequence, and schedule preventative, predictive, and statutory maintenance across processing, drying, packing, and utility areas to maximise asset reliability and plant availability.
  • Drive compliance with food safety standards and engineering best practices while maintaining strict cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Stores to ensure alignment of maintenance plans with operational priorities.
  • Ensure readiness of all maintenance activities by verifying work orders, labour allocation, tools, and material availability in advance.
  • Maintain and govern CMMS (SAP) by ensuring accurate work order creation, execution tracking, and closure, enabling reliable data integrity.

Accountabilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, update, and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance programmes across production, packing, and utilities to ensure maximum equipment reliability.
  • Build and execute detailed weekly and daily maintenance plans, including Maintenance Day Plans with defined scope, resources, durations, and lockout requirements.
  • Lead pre-maintenance planning meetings to align Engineering, Production, and Contractors on scope, priorities, and execution strategy.
  • Plan and coordinate major shutdowns, breakdown repairs, and seasonal maintenance activities, integrating maintenance with production schedules and cleaning cycles.
  • Prioritise and release work orders in SAP PM, ensuring effective response to corrective and ad hoc maintenance based on risk, safety, food safety, and operational impact.

Materials, Spares & Services Coordination

  • Determine and manage spares requirements through criticality assessments, ensuring availability of critical parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate external service providers and statutory inspections (e.g., boilers, lifting equipment) to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
  • Accurately estimate maintenance work scope, including labour, duration, skills, spares, tools, and specialist services.
  • Plan and deploy contract labour to supplement internal resources during peak workloads and shutdown periods.

Execution Readiness & Governance

  • Ensure execution readiness by defining clear job scopes, safety procedures, permit requirements, LOTO compliance, and food safety controls for all work orders.
  • Govern work order quality in SAP CMMS by validating job card inputs, including time confirmations, materials usage, and technical completion notes.
  • Chair post-maintenance reviews to assess execution quality, identify gaps, and track deferred or incomplete work.
  • Maintain ≥95% SAP (CMMS) work order closure compliance, driving discipline in timely completion and accurate system updates.

Performance, Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, Asset Care indicators, backlog, and schedule adherence to drive performance improvements.
  • Analyse equipment failures and losses using RCA, methodologies, translating insights into actionable reliability improvement plans.
  • Continuously improve maintenance strategies by incorporating lifecycle management principles, audit findings, and industry best practices.
  • Plan and track condition monitoring activities (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography) to proactively identify and mitigate equipment risks.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and asset records, including drawings, P&IDs, OEM manuals, SOPs, and equipment history for audit and traceability purposes.

Stakeholder Management & Integration

  • Collaborate daily with Engineering Managers, Technicians, Production Supervisors, Stores, and external vendors to align maintenance activities with operational priorities.
  • Integrate maintenance plans with production schedules to minimise downtime and maximise plant efficiency.
  • Train and support teams on maintenance procedures and effective use of SAP CMMS to strengthen process adherence and data quality.

Financial & Strategic Contribution

  • Support maintenance budgeting and cost control through analysis of historical data and application of zero-based budgeting principles.
  • Drive best-in-class plant reliability and availability, benchmarking performance against industry standards and continuously improving maintenance effectiveness.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or equivalent).
  • Trade Test qualification (advantageous).
  • SAP PM / CMMS certification or formal training (advantageous).

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance planning, maintenance coordination, or engineering maintenance within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems (preferably SAP PM) for work order management, planning, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in shutdown planning, backlog management, and resource coordination.
  • Exposure to food safety, EHS standards, and statutory compliance within a plant environment.
  • Experience in working with automated production systems and modern plant equipment.

  • Assist with organizing and execute assigned research and development projects for SA R&D team. (Calendar Delivery) covering work streams ranging from very limited partial autonomous ownership through to transactional and hoc delivery. 
  • Support the R&D Technologist across the relevant product platform to deliver low complexity projects. Specifically focused on execution of prototype to support around pilot plant trials. 
  • Support the R&D technologist to execute production trials for low complexity projects and report trial results to R&D Manager utilizing the TSG methodology:
    • Define and align trial protocols which is pre-aligned with the R&D technologist.  
    • Communicate trial request with relevant stakeholders and support the setup of pre-trial meetings.  
    • Attend pilot plant and factory trials as and when needed by the R&D technologist.
