Road Plant Operator

Job Description

Key Responsibility Areas:
 

  • Performs specific tasks/activities at the Depot and worksite prior to and on completion of
    allocated maintenance assignments.
  • Communicates with the immediate Superior and establish details of the task.
  • Completes internal transactional documentation and related forms.
  • Performs specific tasks associated with the operation of heavy specialised mechanical plant
    and vehicles during road and storm water drainage maintenance activities.
  • Controls the utilization of materials and discharging/ offloading required quantities of materials for repair or reconstruction work.

Key Responsibility Areas: 

•Provide employment law support to the Municipality and Municipal Entities. 

•Providing advice or formal legal opinions on employment law matters to the Municipality and Municipal Entities. 

•Drafting and vetting of by-laws, contracts and other legal instruments 

•Conducting research and training on employment law.

 •Providing legal support to council committees.

 •Institutes, defends and conducts litigation in the Lower Courts, Labour and High Courts, Supreme Court of Appeals and Constitutional Courts. 

•Provide memorandum of advise and opinion on general litigation matters. 

•Provide an effective and responsive municipal prosecution service. 

•Guides the Municipality in performing its constitutional, statutory and common law duties. 

•Liaises with private/ public bodies and individuals on legal matters. 

•Attends Court with the Municipality’s Attorneys or Advocates on trials or applications. 

•Performs administrative functions. 

•Considers and recommends the granting or denial of indemnity to employees facing criminal actions.

Special Conditions: 

The posts of Legal Advisor/Senior legal Advisor are interchangeable within the Directorate.
