ARTISAN ATTENDANT: BUILDING MAINTENANCE

Job Purpose : Performs tasks / activities associated to execute specific artisan works related to general
building maintenance, carpentry, and elementary plumbing related works according to standard
and procedures on interior and exterior Council property by using the most effective working
methods and safety aspects.
This Compentencies level for this position is a level 1 on the Artisan Competency Framework as stipulated in Annexure A
of the Municipal Staff Regulations Government Notice R890 as promulgated in Government Gazette 45181 dated 20
September 2021 and comprises of the following Competencies.
In addition to the salary mentioned for the permanent position and subject to certain conditions, the District Municipality offers
competitive fringe benefits, such as housing subsidy, furniture removal, a 13th cheque, membership of retirement and medical aid funds.

maintenance of gardens at Water Plants in the Department Technical Services (Water Purification)
within the West Coast District Municipality’s area of jurisdiction.

as stipulated in Annexure A of the Municipal Staff Regulations Government Notice R890 as promulgated in Government

Job Purpose : To provide mechanical and welding support services within the Mechanical Workshop by
assisting artisans and mechanics with maintenance, repair, welding, fabrication and workshop
support activities, ensuring that vehicles, machinery, tools and equipment are maintained in a
safe, clean and operational condition in accordance with quality standards, safety requirements
and operational deadlines.
