Core Description
Responsible for supporting the implementation and operational management of customer engagement, gamification, loyalty, campaign and partner-funded commercial initiatives across Telkom’s digital ecosystem to drive customer acquisition, retention, ARPU uplift, customer engagement and digital revenue growth objectives. Support the identification and onboarding of commercial partners and engagement opportunities that contribute towards revenue generation, customer value creation and monetisation of Telkom’s digital engagement capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Implementation and operational management of customer engagement, gamification, loyalty, campaign and partner-funded commercial initiative
    Support the identification and onboarding of strategic engagement and promotional partners.
    Assist with the commercialisation of engagement platforms and partner-funded campaigns.
    Support sales enablement activities related to engagement solutions and digital campaigns.
    Coordinate with commercial and sales teams to package and position engagement opportunities for partners.
    Assist with revenue tracking and reporting related to engagement and promotional activities.
    Support the development of value propositions for customer engagement and campaign offerings.
    Contribute towards achieving campaign-related commercial and revenue targets.

Qualifications and experience:

Experience supporting customer engagement initiatives, partner-funded campaigns, customer-facing digital solutions or commercial digital products.
Experience working with cross-functional teams
including sales, commercial, marketing, IT, vendors and operational stakeholders.
Exposure to partner management, revenue-generating campaigns, customer acquisition initiatives or digital commercialisation activities will be advantageous.
Experience in campaign performance reporting, customer analytics, and engagement optimisation will be advantageous.

Responsible for the design, development, and delivery of new products or major enhancements to existing products that incorporate software in the overall functionality of electronic products engineering as a core component of digital and network-based products and services. Acts as a technical expert authority in addressing complex engineering challenges across multiple platforms, including system integration, interoperability, performance, and compatibility. Leads and acts as a mentor of a team of developers in the architecture, design, and implementation of highly complex software systems, best practices, and quality requirements. Contributes to technical strategy, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement of development processes within the Development Laboratories environment.

Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain complex software systems and platforms, from concept through to production deployment.
Lead the technical design and architecture of software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

This role plays a critical role as the commercial architect behind Openserve’s wholesale price structures. It is responsible for developing data-driven pricing strategies that balances strategic pricing models (to defend market share against rival FNOs) with tactical rate-card management for ISPs. It ensure that Openserve remains the “provider of choice” for high-speed fiber, copper migration, and backhaul services while protecting the company’s EBITDA.

Strategic Revenue Optimization:
Transition from reactive pricing to a proactive, value-based model that identifies untapped margin opportunities.
Implement dynamic pricing strategies to maximize revenue based on real-time market demand and competitor shifts.
Directly combats revenue erosion caused by Product Migration, Contract Renewals and Service Discounting

Expected ROI & Impact
Margin Improvement: Targeted price adjustments and leakage corrections can typically drive a 1%–5% increase in overall gross margin.
Decision Speed: High-level summaries for executives allow for faster, more confident strategic pivots.

Complex Bid & Solution Governance:
Serves as the primary commercial architect for complex RFXs, Bids, and Tenders, ensuring technical and commercial viability of contracts.
Provides high-level commercial governance over rate cards and dealer incentives to maintain market discipline.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Developing data-driven pricing strategies
    Design long-term pricing frameworks for Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH), Fibre-to-the-Business (FTTB), and National/Metro Backhaul services.
    Monitor the pricing moves of competitors. Conduct “Price-to-Win” analyses to ensure Openserve’s wholesale offerings remain attractive to ISPs.
    Structure commercial incentives and “decommissioning” pricing models to accelerate the migration of the legacy base to Next-Generation Networks (NGN).
    Ensure all pricing structures comply with ICASA (Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) regulations and the Electronic Communications Act.
    Build complex Bottom-Up and Top-Down cost models to determine the profitability of new product launches and volume-based discount (VBD) structures.
    Maintain and update the official Openserve Wholesale Price List, ensuring all ISP partners have clear, transparent access to updated tariffs.
    Act as the pricing lead for high-value tenders, negotiating special commercial terms for large-scale enterprise or government connectivity projects.
    Develop Simple Commercial Pricing Models and Tools to enable quick decision making by executives
    Perform post-implementation reviews on price changes to measure volume elasticity—analyzing if price drops actually led to the expected increase in “homes connected.”
    Lead a team.

Job Responsibilities
Develop solutions to grow Openserve Broadband and Mass Markets revenue portfolio in alignment with business plan objectives
Monitor, analyse and evaluate industry trends, customer requirements and technological changes whilst regularly assessing alignment to Openserve business and commercial strategy
Co-ordinate cross-functional teams, producing and reviewing solution requirement documents and ensuring products and solutions are launched correctly and on schedule.
