Regional Manager – Inland

Icebolethu Group is currently in search of a Regional Manager within the Core – Business (FSP) Department, a Division of Icebolethu Group to be based in the JHB Head Office. The successful incumbent will be required to manage and oversee the statutory obligations, business processes, and operational ability of the FSP within the region, ensuring full regulatory compliance while actively driving sales growth across branches, kiosks, and field operations.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / Matric essential.
• A tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• Regulatory Examination (RE-5 or RE-1) qualification is highly advantageous.
• Clear ITC credit record and clear criminal record.
• Own reliable transport and a functional cellular phone.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience within the Financial Services sector.
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a junior management or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of success in the marketing and sales of Life Assurance products.
• Solid experience in financial advice, intermediary services, and FAIS compliance tracking.
• Working knowledge of tracking Fit and Proper requirements for Representatives and Consultants.

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage and oversee the statutory obligations, operational abilities, and financial services rendered by the FSP and its authorized representatives.
• Instil, champion, and monitor a strict culture of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) across all business activities in the region.

• Ensure absolute compliance by all authorized persons with the General Code of Conduct and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain ongoing compliance with Fit and Proper requirements by regularly auditing and tracking Reps, Branch Supervisors, and Consultants.
• Partner with Area Managers to continuously vet the compliance status, performance, honesty, and integrity of field staff.
• Oversee and manage the training, technical knowledge, and operational skills of Area Managers, Branch Supervisors, and Consultants.
• Rigorously monitor the activities of Field Agents and Consultants appointed under supervision to mitigate compliance risks.
• Monitor and actively participate in Burial functions, working closely with the Burial Unit Head to ensure exceptional service delivery.
• Drive and accelerate insurance sales levels across Boxer kiosks, physical branches, and field agent networks.
• Utilize computer, administrative, and reporting tools to maintain up-to-date compliance records and regional performance analytics.

Risk and Compliance Specialist

Description

Icebolethu Group is currently in search of a Risk and Compliance Specialist within the Risk and Compliance Department, a Division of Icebolethu Group to be based at our Head Office in Durban. The successful incumbent will be required to develop, implement, and monitor risk management and compliance programs for Icebolethu Group of companies, with a specific focus on designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organisation’s Enterprise Risk Management framework.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential risks across financial, operational, and regulatory sectors of the organisation.
• Support business units in designing, implementing, and executing risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Assess the adequacy and ongoing effectiveness of internal controls and risk management plans.
• Support the development, testing, and implementation of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP).

• Conduct detailed Business Impact Analyses (BIA) to ensure robust organisational resilience against disruptions.
• Evaluate compliance adherence, track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and report exposures to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and regular review of risk management and compliance policies.
• Ensure all employees adhere to group policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Actively encourage a culture of risk awareness through regular training and internal educational initiatives.
• Streamline risk and compliance processes to maximize internal operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations to update compliance programs accordingly.Assist in minimizing risk exposures related to workplace injuries, illnesses, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) non-compliance.
• Prepare accurate risk and compliance reports for senior management while maintaining all formal documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Risk/Compliance Management is highly advantageous.

Experience and Knowledge Required:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate risk and compliance roles.
• Experience in the insurance or funeral industry is preferred.
• Deep familiarity with governance frameworks such as King IV, ISO 31000, and ISO 22301.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Direct knowledge of Reporting dashboards or BI tools.

Marketing & Communications Manager

Description

We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract based at our offices in Durban. This is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing Icebolethu Group’s integrated marketing strategy. Reporting to the Group Chief Operations Officer, this role provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight across Marketing & PR, Communications, Digital, Events Management, and Stakeholder Relations, ensuring that all brand activities support business growth, revenue generation, and organisational culture.

The Marketing & Communications Manager plays a critical role in translating business objectives into effective marketing campaigns that generate leads, support sales conversion, and strengthen Icebolethu’s brand leadership in the market. This role will be based at our Durban offices within the Group ICT Department a Division of Icebolethu Group.

Responsibilities

Media Relations & External Communications

· Serve as the primary custodian for all external communications, ensuring all corporate messaging to the media, public, and stakeholders is aligned with business objectives.

· Build, maintain, and leverage relationships with key media houses, journalists, and editors across broadcast, print, and digital channels.

· Draft, approve, and distribute all official press releases, media statements, and corporate announcements relating to the Icebolethu Group.

· Track media coverage, analyze public sentiment, and proactively identify opportunities for positive brand publicity and thought leadership.

Strategic Leadership, Governance & Reporting

· Develop, implement, and continuously refine the Group’s marketing, communications, and digital strategy.

· Provide strategic input at MANCO level, aligning marketing and communication objectives with overall business goals.

· Ensure brand consistency, governance, and compliance across all Icebolethu platforms and regions.

· Prepare and present strategic marketing and communication reports for MANCO and EXCO.

Reputation & Crisis Management

· Source, appoint, and manage specialist agencies for media buying, website development, creative services, and crisis communication/PR.

· Support executive leadership in managing key stakeholders and play an active, leading role in reputation management and mitigating media risks.

· Identify, contract, and manage influencers and brand ambassadors aligned to the Icebolethu brand while tracking budgets and deliverables.

Team Leadership & Culture

· Provide leadership and oversight to unit managers across Marketing & PR, Communications, Digital, Events Management, and Stakeholder Relations.

· Contribute actively to building and sustaining a strong organisational culture aligned to Icebolethu values.

· Develop and manage the Internal Communications Strategy to ensure staff are informed, engaged, and aligned with external brand and media messaging.

Campaign Development & Lead Generation

· Lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of integrated campaigns that generate measurable leads to support policy book growth.

· Collaborate closely with Sales and Operations to ensure alignment between marketing outputs and business needs.

· Track campaign performance and ROI, using insights to optimise future initiatives.

Events Strategy & Content Development

· Develop and manage the Group’s annual events calendar, leading the conceptualization and execution of internal, external, community, and stakeholder events.

· Lead and contribute to the development of strategic documents, media kits, marketing proposals, campaign briefs, event programmes, and scripts

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications.

· Grade 12 / Matric

· A University degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Experience and Knowledge required.

· Minimum of 8 years’ experience in marketing or communications, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role.

· Proven track record in media relations, press office management, and corporate communications.

· Proven experience leading large, diverse teams is required.

· Industry Advantage: Experience in the Insurance and/or Burials industry will be an added advantage.

· Valid driver’s license is compulsory.
