PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Operate a mobile mechanized roofbolter underground and drill and install roof bolts according to the drill plan adhering to standard operating procedures and required mining and safety standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure safe, efficient and proper use of all machinery, equipment and infrastructure to ensure health and safety requirements.
- Obtain daily and weekly work instructions from Shift/Team Supervisor and prepares and plans work priority lists and resource requirements in order to complete tasks.
- Ensure accurate understanding of the roofbolting plan and sequence and ensure that all equipment and consumable requirements are communicated to Shift/Team Supervisor to complete allocated work tasks.
- Ensure that any operational problem that is encountered is reported even if outside immediate area of responsibility.
- Position safety jacks to support underground mine roofs until bolts can be installed.
- Operate the Roofbolt according to required standards to drill bolt holes into roofs at specified distances from ribs or adjacent bolts and test bolts for specified tension.
- Continuously report and capture all required roofbolt information on the on-board computer.
- Continuously ensure that required roofbolt consumables are in place and that water and diesel requirements are met as per safe standard operating procedures.
- Provide information during shift handovers if needed to ensure the synchronized functionality of operations.
- Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.

- Conduct and review baseline and issue-based risk assessments, ensuring timely updates following incidents (e.g. HPI, LTI, fatalities) and changes in operations.
- Monitor and support the effective implementation of critical controls, fatal risk protocols and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
- Ensure alignment of site risk management practices, systems and risk matrices with Group Operational Risk standards and methodologies.
- Compile, analyse and report on risk data, including dashboards, trends and control effectiveness to support decision-making.
