Chief Finance Officer

Job Description

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer 

Location: Head Office (Hyde Park)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer 

JOB SUMMARY

To provide strategic oversight and direction of the Finance department in order to deliver long-term organisational objectives in line with regulatory and legal requirements. The incumbent will be accountable for the development and execution of the Group’s financial strategy, financial reporting, governance framework, risk management practices and financial controls to ensure organisational sustainability, growth and financial stability.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

  • CA(SA)
  • MBA – Advantageous
  • CFA – Advantageous

 
Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 12 – 15 years’ experience in corporate finance and financial management
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in a senior management or executive leadership role

DELIVERABLES: 

  • Lead and execute the Group’s financial strategy to support sustainable growth, profitability and long-term business objectives.
  • Serve as a key member of EXCO and provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, Board and senior management.
  • Oversee the preparation, management and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
  • Ensure the accurate and timeous delivery of financial reports, models and analyses that support business decision-making.
  • Oversee all finance and accounting operations including financial reporting, procurement, payroll, projects, revenue cycle management and financial controls.
  • Promote operational efficiency, continuous improvement and financial accountability throughout the organisation.
  • Manage investment planning and funding initiatives to support business growth and expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, tax legislation and corporate governance standards.
  • Lead the successful completion of annual audits and SARS submissions.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks while ensuring appropriate financial controls are embedded across the Group.
  • Provide oversight and direction for finance-related policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, auditors, financial institutions and other external stakeholders.
  • Drive collaboration across business units to support operational excellence and financial performance.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring talent development, succession planning and employee engagement.
  • Establish meaningful performance measures and reporting frameworks to monitor business performance against strategic objectives.
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timeous reporting with appropriate levels of escalation to enable effective decision-making.

Medical Officer

JOB SUMMARY

To serve as an advisor on health issues and disease control, provide medical support, discover inconsistencies and investigate problems. To diagnose, treat and manage physical  injuries and illnesses. The incumbent is responsible for providing patient centred, holistic care to patients at the facility.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

  • MBCHB
  • Registration with HPCSA as a medical practitioner
  • A certificate qualification in any of the following BLS, ACLS, APLS or ATLS ill be an added advantage

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years`experience post community service
  • Psychiatric and rehabilitation centre exposure will be advantageous
  • Private healthcare experience will be advantageous

DELIVERABLES

  • To oversee the patient’s diagnosis and treatment for rehabilitation, mental and physical ailments and injuries
  • Determine and prescribe the correct course of treatment
  • Research, enable and consult on opportunities to harness medical technology in the treatment of clients
  • Ensure safety of staff and patients by reporting safety hazards to management
  • Document and track cases assigned to portfolio
  • Utilise the approved platforms and reporting templates to document medical data and reports for patients
  • Give detailed reporting (informed by doctor-patient confidentiality best practice) to relevant medical or familial (to the patient) stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective service delivery
  • Promote alignment by understanding and communicating departmental and customer needs and requirements throughout the hospital
  • Identify educational opportunities for clinical and allied professionals (related to holistic treatment of patients) and contribute to training plans
  • Maintain own CPD points required to maintain accreditation
  • Ensure all financial and contract documentation is maintained to support accurate record-keeping
  • Ensure accurate services provided to patients are documented and appropriately billed for
  • Drive adherence to statutory standards, policies and procedures within the business unit to ensure compliance at all times and take remedial action where necessary
  • Apply and maintain the risk management framework for the Business Unit
  • Administer and sign-off on appropriate documents according to Delegation of Authority and define SLAs in conjunction with other Departments, Functions and Suppliers

Registered Nurse ICU – Trained Specialised

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in General Nursing.
  • Trained Qualification: Critical care
  • Current Registration with the South African Nursing Council.
  • ACLS Qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • Post registration experience preferred.

Added Advantage:

  • Bls Qualification.
  • Updated PALS / ATLS
  • 2-5 years’ experience in ICU.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery
  • Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
  • A relevant certificate qualification in BLS, PALS

Minimum Experience:

  • Must have 3 years experience post community service in Paediatric Nursing
  • Private healthcare experience will be advantageous

DELIVERABLES

  • Perform essential medical procedures, such as inserting intravenous lines, running tests and administer medication to ill infants and children and administer medication following age-appropriate guidelines
  • Remain up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations therapeutics and medication and treatment procedures of children
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, and making recommendations according to the hospital’s requirements of best and safe practices and unit specific protocols and procedures
  • Document patient care services by accurately charting inpatient and department records including updating care plans as patient needs changes
  • Maintain accurate files and records of patient medication, incidents and complaints and steps taken to resolve patient problems or prevent incidents from recurring
  • Conduct structured ward rounds including accompanying Doctors (surgeons and related specialities) and other Medical Practitioners for creating and evaluating customized care plans including implementing Doctors instructions and prescriptions
  • Drive the reduction in healthcare associated infections
  • Provide guidance and advice, whilst applying good clinical judgment, to other Nursing staff working in the paediatric setting and regarding the safe and effective use of paediatric care technologies
  • Provide first line assessment at the bedside with regards to aspects of medical technology including ventilators, renal replacement therapy equipment, physiological measurement monitors and the like
  • Set up and provide a renal replacement therapy service within the unit including the setting up of equipment and contributing to patient care programs
  • Support the Nursing Services Manager and Unit Managers in controlling budget expenditure, by ensuring nursing resource spend is in line with budget, patient care and actual activities.
