Key Purpose
To provide professional accounting, taxation, and financial reporting services while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The successful candidate will manage accounting processes through to trial balance, prepare management accounts, perform independent reviews, and support clients with accurate financial reporting and tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Taxation
Prepare and submit VAT 201 returns, including supporting calculations.
Prepare and submit PAYE 201 returns and PAYE 501 reconciliations.
Prepare and submit ITR14 company income tax returns.
Complete provisional tax returns.
Ensure compliance with SARS tax legislation and deadlines.
Accounting
Process accounting transactions and adjustments using Sage.
Process AutoEntry transactions through Sage.
Prepare accounting records up to Trial Balance.
Perform auditable balance sheet reconciliations.
Resolve audit queries and accounting discrepancies.
Perform independent review procedures.
Prepare and interpret monthly management accounts.
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
Utilise SAP or Oracle systems where applicable (advantageous).
Client Service
Provide professional accounting support to clients.
Maintain strong client relationships through timely communication and service delivery.
Meet client deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.
Compliance
Manage CIPC filings.
Utilise SARS eFiling for VAT and PAYE submissions.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Technology
Utilise accounting software including Sage, Xero or QuickBooks.
Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications (Preferred)
Professional Accountant (SA) or other recognised senior accounting designation.
B.Com Degree.
Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles.
Skills and Experience
Experience preparing VAT, PAYE, provisional tax and ITR14 returns.
Experience processing accounting records through to Trial Balance.
Experience preparing management accounts.
Knowledge of independent review procedures.
Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving audit issues.
Proficiency in Sage; SAP or Oracle experience will be advantageous.
Non-Negotiable Requirements (Will Be Checked)
Experience using Sage, Xero or QuickBooks.
Experience using SARS eFiling for VAT and PAYE.
Experience with CIPC filings.
Tech- and AI-savvy.
Personal Attributes
Client-centric and deadline-driven.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Results-orientated with excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month

Leadership and Strategy
Support the ETM Executive to develop and lead the Standards Strategy for SAIPA.
Manage the implementation of the Institution’s Standards Strategy, processes, and practices.
Implement cutting-edge competency framework strategies and logbooks supporting Public, Private, and Practice environments.
Leadership of the Standards Division
Implement strategies for competency frameworks and logbooks.
Execute strategies for revenue diversification and membership growth.
Foster innovation in service delivery and professional development programmes.
Lead the development of future-focused professional development frameworks.
Contribute to strategies that expand SAIPA’s influence in emerging markets.
Implement programmes supporting work-life balance initiatives for members.

Qualification
B Degree in Accounting or a related field.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a client relationship environment.

Experience in an accounting and standards environment.
Detailed knowledge of SAIPA and its services.
SAIPA Membership will be advantageous.
