As our Tax Specialist: Projects and Administratin you’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of ensuring that the company meets its tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions. This includes assisting with the preparation of tax calculations and tax returns, assisting with tax audits, and ensuring compliance with changing tax laws and regulations.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge, including:

Tax Compliance and Calculations

  • Assist in quarterly calculation of direct taxes.
  • Work closely with the Tax Compliance Specialists to ensure that all applicable taxes, including corporate income taxes, indirect taxes and gaming taxes are accurately calculated and reported timeously.
  • Assist the Tax Compliance Specialists with the calculation of indirect taxes related to the gaming and operational activities of the company. This includes taxes such as gaming tax, VAT (Value Added Tax), withholding tax (WHT), local VAT, reverse VAT, excise tax, and levies.
  • Assist the Tax Compliance Specialists to ensure that all indirect tax calculations are accurate and compliant with local laws and regulations.

Filing of Operational Tax Returns

  • Submit and file periodic indirect, gaming and operational tax returns for all relevant entities.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations for each jurisdiction and ensure submissions are done on a weekly and/or monthly basis.
  • Maintain tax profiles for all relevant entities on revenue authority portals.

Compliance Tax Calendar

  • Assist with managing and updating the tax compliance calendar for all periodic tax filings.
  • Assist with ensuring that all deadlines for tax returns and payments are met in a timely manner.

Tax Legislation Anomalies

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and investigate any anomalies that may arise.
  • Stay up to date with relevant tax laws, regulations, and potential changes in the tax landscape that could affect the business.

Tax Audits

  • Assist Tax Compliance Specialists / Manager by providing ongoing support to internal and external tax audits.
  • Assist the Tax Compliance Specialists / Manager with the gathering, preparation and submission of necessary information relating to internal and external tax audits.

Group Tax Matrixes

  • Assist in the updating of the group’s tax matrixes.
  • Ensure that the information in the tax matrix reflects accurately on the company’s tax position.
  • Communicate any updates where necessary to Tax Compliance Specialist / Manager.

Audit & Corporate Governance

  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual audit files and providing audit evidence.
  • Ensure that all controls are adhered to and documented for SOX compliance.

Financial Staffing

  • Effectively work as a team with relevant team members.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, both internally and externally, to ensure expectations are met and potential problems are escalated timely.

Ad-Hoc Tax Duties

  • Provide assistance and support for various tax-related projects and administrative matters as needed. This may include research, gathering information, or providing insights on different tax issues that arise.
  • Update and maintain tax trackers, tax project registers and tax compliance registers.
  • Collating / uploading accounting information to tax consultants supporting preparation of tax computations.
  • Draft process notes detailing how and why monthly tasks are performed to ensure business continuity.
  • Archive all financial information.
  • Assist with raising tickets to resolve and improve issues / errors within the tax system and to update workflows following changes within the business.
  • General administration related to the entities responsible for.
  • Assist with other ad hoc tasks as requested by the team from time to time.

What you’ll bring

You’re someone who brings:

  • Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field.
  • 1-3 years accounting and tax experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in tax accounting / calculations, tax compliance and tax administrative management.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and MS Word.
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope.

As our Senior SOX Control Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting and enhancing Super Group’s SOX compliance programme, helping ensure a strong, scalable and compliant control environment across our global operations.
 

What you’ll do

Risk Assessment & Scoping

  • Identify and assess key financial reporting risks, including risks arising from:
    • Digital platforms
    • Payments and transactional flows

Control Design & Framework Enhancement

Process Reviews & SOX Impact Assessments

  • Perform proactive quality assurance reviews of key processes and controls to assess whether controls are implemented as designed and operating effectively across the Group
  • Assess the SOX implications of changes due to:
    • Accounting or regulatory updates
    • Process or policy changes
    • System implementations or enhancements
    • Organisational restructuring
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure controls evolve alongside business changes

Deficiencies and Issue Resolution

  • Assess control deficiencies/observations, including root cause analysis
  • Support the development of practical and sustainable remediation plans
  • Evaluate whether remediation actions adequately address identified risks
  • Track remediation activities to ensure timely and sustainable closure of control gaps
  • Monitor progress and escalate delays or risks to closure
  • Validate remediation actions prior to closure (where applicable)
  • Maintain oversight of deficiency trends and recurring issues
  • Collaborate with control owners to reinforce expectations around control execution and documentation quality

SOX Programme Delivery, Governance and Documentation

  • Support the maintenance of SOX PMO governance, cadence, and delivery standards
  • Ensure timely delivery of evidence and documentation aligned to audit timelines
  • Coordinate SOX activities across stakeholders to ensure consistent execution
  • Contribute to SOX planning cycles, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality SOX documentation, including:
    • Process narratives
    • Flowcharts
    • Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs)
  • Review and enhance documentation to ensure consistency and clarity across the Group

Reporting, Training & Policy Management

  • Prepare SOX status updates, memos, dashboards, and metrics, including:
    • Testing progress
    • Deficiencies and themes
    • Remediation status
  • Contribute to materials for management and audit committee reporting
  • Support the creation and maintenance of SOX and internal control policies
  • Develop and deliver SOX training materials for process and control owners
  • Provide insights into control effectiveness and programme maturity

Audit & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Internal Audit and External Auditors during walkthroughs, testing, and audits
  • Own responses to audit queries and requests for assigned areas
  • Act as a key liaison between the SOX team and control owners
  • Provide clear guidance to stakeholders on SOX requirements and expectations

Continuous Improvement & Automation

  • Identify and drive opportunities to simplify, standardise, and automate controls
