Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) have exciting opportunities in the Finance Department. We are looking for talented individuals with relevant skills and experience for a Financial Controller : Commercial, which is based in COF Guateng & Coastal. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Financial Manager.

Key Purpose Statement  

To execute regional financial processes and procedures which support in driving the delivery of accurate regional financial results, through integrated financial analysis, and partnering with district leadership teams. To partner with district leadership to support the implementation of the RACM framework within their districts.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Key Outputs and Accountabilities  

Cost Management and Reporting 

  • Coach district line managers to develop financial acumen and capability.
  • Prepare and present district financial updates in weekly district team meetings to track performance to date versus target. 
  • Compile and consolidate regional weekly financial update and submit for review. 
  • Track and monitor cost commitments, and process complex journals and accruals into the general ledger to ensure all income and expenses are accounted for in the accounting period. 
  • Review district functional income statements and identified sections of the regional income statement, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct various analyses and provide commentary on identified sections of the regional income statement variances to derive data insights, highlight cost saving opportunities and identify risks requiring mitigation.
  • Implement, track and monitor cost saving initiatives and action plans, by partnering with district teams, to align to the overall regional financial objectives.
  • Update and communicate weekly and monthly financial reports depicting regional and district financial performance, tracking key performance indicators, to target audiences with the region. 
  • Consolidate and analyse regional financial data to support the delivery of a regional cost forecast through communication with key district stakeholders.  
  • Conduct various detailed analyses and highlight opportunities to drive productivity and efficiencies across the districts.
  • Calculate the feasibility and report on the implementation of opportunities to drive productivity and efficiencies within the region.
  • Implement head office or regional financial plans and report on progress, to support the enablement of projects or ad hoc requests aligned to company commercial objectives.

Governance 

  • Co-develop corrective actions with line managers to address identified gaps as a result of RACM quarterly self-assessments. 
  • Attend quarterly functional surprise stock-counts within the region to ensure accurate stock reporting, aligned to RACM requirements.
  • Attend quarterly full-stock count within region, as a management control requirement, to ensure accurate stock reporting.
  • Report on unverified assets and coordinate coaching sessions with the Financial Accounting Asset team on the asset verification process and identified correction processes to ensure RACM compliance and minimise losses.
  • Provide feedback on redundant assets to support quarterly impairment survey.
  • Provide commentary and supporting documentation for quarterly regional functional balance sheet reconciliation sign-off.
  • Analyse head office LDP dashboard shared by head office and highlight control gaps through the identification of opportunities and risks, to drive compliance.
  • Devise action plans to close gaps and track the implementation of these plans to drive improvement of compliance. 

Budgeting  

  • Scope opportunities to eliminate waste by conducting various analyses of district financial performance.
  • Using parameters, guidelines and resourcing requirements, as received from head office, to deliver on the financial objectives. 
  • Provide input into the regional budget through the consolidation of line manager budgeting requests.
  • Provide input to various budgeting models and upload final models to the budgeting software
  • Provide input into regional budget forecast, as required throughout the year, to meet functional financial performance objectives.  
  • Run various budget reports for review of variances by financial and line managers.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications and Experience  

  • BCom (Hons) in financial management or equivalent. 
  • Chartered Accountant of South Africa (CA(SA)) / Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) would be advantageous. 
  • 6-8 years of experience in financial management. 
  • Advanced MS Office, specifically Excel.

To drive the implementation of effective cost management processes and procedures in the manufacturing function, to ensure optimal financial performance by partnering and providing analytical insights to business leaders.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Key Outputs and Accountabilities  

Cost Management and Reporting 

  • Review of Head Office cost centre costs to compile bi-weekly cost review report, to highlight risk of overspend.  
  • Consolidate Regional and Head Office cost review submissions to provide a holistic review of Manufacturing forecast cost updates, against plan, bi-weekly.  
  • Analyse Regional and Head Office cost month-end submissions to provide a holistic review of Manufacturing actuals against plan, provide consolidated commentary on the drivers of variances.  
  • Collaborate with operations to find cost efficiencies based on analytics and ensure execution according to plan. 
  • Review processing of journals and accruals to correct cost treatment and ensure expenses are posted to the correct general ledger, including Voyager Settlement Process. 
  • Prepare and present financial Income Statement performance for the monthly Manufacturing Business Review. 
  • Identify areas of opportunity, risk and overall spend within manufacturing teams, by region. 
  • Coordinate the preparation for the Balance Sheet general ledger accounts reconciliation affecting head office Manufacturing. 
  • Oversee the compilation of the volume report for the Manufacturing function to depict actual vs planned volumes, by plant. 
  • Design and implement improved financial reporting templates for Regions. 
  • Conduct adhoc financial analyses as required by the business.

  • Sample calculations and prepare a report to audit procurement value capture calculations, price changes and price additions. 
  • Manage Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) adherence and compliance within Manufacturing head office and conduct quarterly self-assessments. 
  • Define and implement processes and procedures for co-packing arrangements to ensure compliance to RACM. 
  • Conduct quarterly stock counts with co-packers to verify stock-on-hand. 
  • Prepare and provide supporting evidence for items requested by external auditors. 
  • Build financial acumen, governance and policy capability within Manufacturing teams across the business. 

Budgeting  

  • Co-ordinate the overall Manufacturing budgeting process and issue models and targets to the regional manufacturing teams. 
  • Consolidate the Manufacturing budget for the Head Office Manufacturing team.

Job Description

An exciting job offer exists in Voltic Ghana Limited for a Finance Manager. Voltic (GH) Limited, being the manufacturer of the leading premium water brand in Ghana for over two decades, has now expanded its portfolio to cover Value Added Dairies. The role reports to the Country Finance Manager. The Finance Manager role is responsible to:

  • Provide an integrated and optimal Balance Sheet
  • Ownership of the capital process: forecasting, adjustments & administration of executions
  • Manage Tax function per business strategic objectives.
  • Provide a high quality, efficient and optimal function for the processing of transactional activities within the financial accounting function
  • Provide deep financial expertise and knowledge across the financial accounting accountabilities (i.e. Assets, PTP, Accounts Payable)
  • Ensure the function is optimally resourced, with capable and motivated people supplying bench strength

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and ownership of the integration of the Financial Accounting function, including processes, systems and tools.
  • Balance Sheet & asset accounting, including budgeting and forecasting
    • Plan and manage the annual and 3-year budgeting process for the Balance sheet and Capital Investment. Done in partnership with and per the timelines of the FM: FP&A.
    • Plan and manage the balance sheet commentary and reporting process. Partner with FM: FP&A on the delivery of the monthly and annually group requirements
    • Provide insightful, timeous financial reporting
    • Overall process management of approved capital investments
    • Review and control of balance sheet reconciliation process.
    • Custodianship of the fixed asset governance process as agreed with the Governance and Risk Manager
    • Manage and plan fixed asset verification and reconciliation
    • Oversee completion of the financial hard close reporting requirements
  • Procurement (operational accountability)
    • Manage and deliver the Accounts payable & P2P processes with the operational teams including the performance reporting and query resolution
  • Specialist activities:
    • Deliver the Working Capital objectives
    • Manage and deliver internal control systems
    • Relevant financial and taxation legislation compliance
    • Ensure Treasury mandates and strategies are executed and complied with.
    • Tax accounting: ensuring tax mandates and strategies are executed and delivered.
    • Manage the Import and Export process, including complete compliance and timely execution of legislative requirements
  • Manage the performance of outsourced service provider(s) performing activities for the financial accounting function

Skills, Experience & Education

CA / ACCA / CIMA
5-10 years of relevant financial experience in a multinational or FMCG environment
Experience in managing policies and the chart of accounts
SAP FI (or similar) experience
Strong knowledge of statutory requirements
