Duties & Responsibilities
Asset Management

  • Identify and provide support in evaluation, implementation and management of systems and processes to meet identified organisational needs
  • Actively pursue exchange and preservation of information between operations and individuals to facilitate effective knowledge management according to organisational objectives
  • Responsible for the audit process and continuous improvement of all Insurance operations
  • This includes keeping abreast of new leading practices, software developments and technologies in terms of fixed asset

Compliance, Governance and Assurance

  • Execute and implement responsibilities in adherence to applicable legislative and corporate governance principles
  • Make informed decisions and recommendations regarding existing policies
  • Manage risk and consequences of non-compliance
  • Ensure all information and reporting has integrity and is in strict compliance with proper accounting principles and applicable laws
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in alignment with government legislation and charters

Financial Administration and Reporting

  • Ensure effective analysis, interpretation and reporting of financial processes according to accounting principles
  • Responsible for; cost management and reporting, month-end and year-end financial reporting and management reporting
  • Ensure value creation and efficient financial business functioning
  • Identify, and manage risks by conducting scheduled and unscheduled audits

Functional Excellence

  • Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, end-to-end processes, tools, templates etc.
  • Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up of functional processes and eliminate duplication and bureaucracy
  • Apply functional best practices and promote sharing of best practices and knowledge
  • Assist in the execution of functional excellence initiatives

Management Accounting

  • Responsible for budgeting and management accounting pack completion
  • Conduct capital budgeting and play a key role in capital evaluation process
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sales, profit and cash forecasting
  • Maintain and expand business partner concept
  • Manage target-setting function within designated area/applicable Business Unit (BU)
  • Conduct financial tracking of targets
  • Ensure function adheres to Group governance, policies and standards, statutory and legal compliance
  • Entrench a culture of discipline

People Management

  • Performance management: Adhere to performance management procedures
  • Culture/functional climate: Uphold the Group culture and values within the function. Foster effective teamwork and unity

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

  • Maintain and ensure a healthy environment and safe operations practices
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards

Duties & Responsibilities
Administration and Document Control

  • Develop, implement and ensure maintenance of a document management system
  • Utilisation on training of SAP Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) module
  • Maintenance of the Governance Risk and Compliance incidents management system
  • Monitory of the action management system
  • Compliance monitory (different authorities)
  • Management review of own arrangements and presentation thereof to management.
  • Coordination of monthly performance source documents.
  • Development and implementation of the required templates as per procedure as per standard.

Best Practice and Knowledge Management

  • Identify priority management for non-conformances
  • Coordinate record keeping, maintenance and administration of all documentation related to relevant enablement systems
  • Ensure improvement of systems and certification

Compliance, Governance and Assurance

  • Ensure standardised, detailed and systematic approach is taken when facilitating activities to ensure continued compliance to permit requirements
  • Implement effective Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) enablement systems
  • Establish an effective methodology of business operations, communication and control whereby statutory and corporate compliance and appropriate mitigation risk is achieved

Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management

  • Provide support to customers in order to achieve a consistent SHEC enablement systems
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and appropriate parties
  • Ensure customers satisfaction with delivery of SHEC management systems services

Project Management

  • Provide inputs for planning and recommendations for staff to be trained on systems
  • Identify areas for further development and system improvements

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

  • Adhere to all health/safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
  • Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
  • Comply with SHEC/technical requirements
  • Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times

Service Management

  • Plan, schedule and report on management review
