Finance Internship

Role Summary and key work output and accountabilities
The Credit Controller Finance Intern will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of
collection targets essential to the profitability of the Hospitals. The incumbent will learn the
overall function to control and collect all outstanding monies due to the Hospital in terms of
his/her responsibility in line with the Netcare strategic themes.
 Learn to attend to Debtors books and not limited to: Medical Aid accounts, Private/ foreign
account and Exception accounts follow up.
 Prepare and submit journals for authorisation.
 Ensure timeous processing of authorised journals.
 Identify long outstanding accounts and contact patient to arrange for settlement.
 Support in General management and administration pertaining to outstanding debt as
per the Standard Operating Procedure.
 Review private patient age analysis.
 Support in the managing of the rejection lists.
 Support in the management of the baby registration on the medical fund.
 Assist Credit Control queries for both walk in queries and telephonic.
 Supported in managing patients in progress and private and internal patients.
(International Private Patients, and Private Patients.
 Review collection of applicable co-payments.

Inherent Requirements
 Finance Qualification at a recognised learning institution.
 No work experience required as this is an internship. Advantageous to those living with
disability
 Candidate must have good computer skills, be computer literate in MS Office.
 Candidates must display a sound knowledge of finance practices.

Role Summary
 The Human Resources Intern is required to perform a full generalist human resources
function.
 This includes industrial relations, recruitment and selection, training, counseling, and
the supervision of administration processes.
 The incumbent is further required to meet tight deadlines, to be accurate, to follow
policies and procedures and to interact with members of the staff, management,
external companies/agencies associated with Netcare as well as members of the public.

Inherent Requirements

Education
 National Senior certificate and/or equivalent
 A three-year Degree or a Diploma in Human Resources Management

Preferred
 Advanced computer literacy.

Work experience
 No work experience required as this is an internship.
 Maintain professionalism

Knowledge
 Good working knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act

Academic Staff Member. The incumbent will be required to educate and facilitate
theoretical and clinical training of undergraduate nursing students.

Inherent Requirements

Education

  • Current registration with South African Nursing Council as a registered nurse and
    midwife /professional nurse.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/ Degree in Nursing Education.
  • Registered with South African Nursing Council as an Assessor and Moderator
  • Primary Healthcare qualification will be advantageous.
  • Master’s Degree /Studies towards a Master’s Degree in progress.

Work experience

  • 3 years’ experience within the education field.
  • Research competence

Knowledge

  • Own Transport / Driver’s License
  • Computer Proficiency: MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Portfolio of evidence of multiple teaching and facilitation methods and visual aids
    used / example of technology in the classroom utilised as teaching and facilitation
    methods.

facilitate theoretical and clinical training of undergraduate and post basic nursing
students.

Education

  • Current registration with South African Nursing Council as a
    registered/professional nurse.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/ Degree in Education.
  • Registered with South African Nursing Council as an Assessor and Moderator
  • An additional Qualification in a Nursing Specialty field (Operating Room Nursing
    and/or Intensive Care Nursing) is compulsory.
  • Master’s Degree/ in progress.

Work experience

  • 3 years’ experience within the education field.
