Field Technician – G4S Deposita – Durban – South Africa

Deposita SA, a world renowned Cash Management Company Specializing in Smart Solutions For Banking, Retail & Wholesale Sectors has a vacancy in the Operations Department.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining ABM’s as well as docking stations.

The successful incumbent should be a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which technical support plays within a successful business unit. Role Responsibility:

1. Effective management of Installations and Maintenance

  • Ensuring installations and deinstallation of ABM’s are completed.
  • Provide training to customers of new ABM.
  • Maintain and install docking stations.
  • Maintain ABM’s and install new modifications.

2. Effective management of Operational Excellence

  • Ensure that customers needs are attended to timeously.
  • Workmanship is always at the highest level.
  • SLAs to be completed according to the business arrangements.
  • Maintain and care for equipment issued by the business.
  • Collect faulty canisters from the cash centre for repair by the service centre.
  • Monthly maintenance to be completed according to SLA agreements (98% per vendor).
  • Correctly completing Call logging system (Journey) for reference, billing and stats.

3. Effective management of Client Retention

  • Ensure that existing clients are satisfied with the operation of the devices by ensuring that effective training has been done on the devices.

4. Effective management of Customer Service

  • Perform spot fixing on-site.
  • Ensure technical call-outs are attended within time limits of SLA.
  • Working extended hours when needed.

5. Health and Safety

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of each year’s branch/region/national safety plans.
  • Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks.
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people.
  • Discuss all safety incidents on all levels.

Reporting to the Regional Security Manager, this role is responsible for Providing visible high risk surveillance and escort on high risk vehicles in high risk areas.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Risk surveillance for different branches

  • Receives a call from BSO/Controller on limits exceeded
  • Collect the vehicle for escort
  • Escort the vehicle to various clients and sometimes until vehicle is back at base
  • Receive a call to escort up to Polokwane or other regions
  • Upon information received from Intelligence / Investigations Departments, pertaining to possible attacks on customers and or branches, member responds, either reactive or pro-active.

Identify high risk areas

  • Conduct risk assessment/survey at client site
  • Compile the report
  • Send report to RSM
  • Random surveillance of sites known for robberies

Road checks

  • Stop vehicles randomly outside or at base
  • Cover allocated areas and conduct vehicle search
  • Check the risk on the vehicle e.g. safes, locks, uniform, bullet proof ,weapon permit, ID
  • Compile a report for RSM and BSO

Branch opening and closing procedures including vehicle checks

  • Is advised to go to a branch to do the opening procedures using forms prescribed.
  • Conduct closing procedure checks
  • Check the whole fleet of the branch
  • Check Vault / safes security compliance
  • Provide evidence to support the opening and closing report.

Investigation

  • React to tipoff provided by investigations
  • Providing security and support for investigators e.g. on robberies
  • Conduct ATM audits procedures for audit investigation

Health and safety

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year.
  • Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
