Risk and Compliance Specialist

The Risk and Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and monitoring risk management and compliance programs for Icebolethu Group of companies. This includes identifying potential risks, assessing their impact, and implementing controls to mitigate those risks, while ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Responsibilities
Risk Identification and Assessment:
Identifying potential risks across various areas of the organisation, including financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
Developing and Implementing Risk Management Plans:
Creating and executing risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Ongoing evaluation of compliance adherence and risk exposure. Tracking key risk indicators, monitoring compliance with regulations, and reporting on risk and compliance status to relevant stakeholders.
Policies and Procedures:
Assisting in the development and implementation of risk management and compliance policies and procedures. Ensure that IG employees adheres to policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Training and Awareness:
Actively encourage a culture of risk and compliance within IG through regular training and awareness initiatives. Educate employees on IG policies, compliance requirements, industry best practices and risk awareness.
Internal Process Efficiency (Internal Operations)
Streamline risk and compliance processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Staying Updated on Regulations:
Monitoring changes in relevant laws and regulations and updating risk management and compliance programs accordingly.
Staying Updated on Regulations: Occupational Health and Safety
Ensures a safe working environment by minimizing risks exposures related to injuries, illnesses, accidents and non-compliance with OHS regulatory requirements.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare regular risk and compliance reports for senior management. Maintain documentation of compliance activities and monitoring findings.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies .
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance frameworks .
• Analytical and problem-solving skills .
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills .
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently .
• Experience in a related field, such as compliance, governance, or risk management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, or related field.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance Management advantageous
Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk and compliance roles
• Experience in insurance or funeral industry preferred
• Familiarity with governance frameworks i.e. King IV, ISO 31000, ISO 22301
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Knowledge of Reporting dashboards or BI tools
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
• Provide guidance and advice to employees, management and EXCO on risk and compliance matters.
• Identify potential risks within the IG, including those related to compliance, operations, ICT and financial matters.
• Based on the identified risk areas develop a strategy to adequately address high-risk areas.
• Develop and implement a Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs).
• Development of the risks profile/risk registers for each business unit and/or key function.
• Review policies and procedures to clearly outline Risk and Compliance management expectations.
• Ensure policy socialization and enforcement. Regular reviews to keep the policies up-to-date with the latest regulatory changes and internal process improvements.
• Provide timely and accurate risk and compliance reports. Communicate findings and recommendations to management and EXCO.
• Investigate potential compliance violations or incidents and recommend corrective action to prevent future violations.
• Explore automation ideas to ensure efficiency in the monitoring process.
• Assist SHEQ Officer to fulfil the duties and responsibilities within a Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality management.
Working Conditions
• Primarily office-based with regular site visits

Accounts Receivable Clerk

Icebolethu Group is currently in search of an Accounts Receivable Clerk the successful incumbent will be responsible for creating, sending and ensuring the accuracy of invoices and ensuring the payment of invoices timeously within the Group Finance Department of Icebolethu Group.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications.
• Diploma in Finance/Accounting or related qualification.
Experience and Knowledge required.
• Minimum of two-to-three (2/3) years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience in Insurance or Financial services is preferred.
Skills and Competencies required.
• Planning and prioritisation.

Key Performance Areas
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Generate intercompany invoices for intercompany transactions.
• Generate quotations & invoices for cash services to external customers i.e. Funerals, Burials, Tombstone, Catering and Group..
• Ensure invoices are processed and reconciled accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide and submit weekly and monthly invoice reports to Group Finance and Procurement Manager.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reconciliations for review to Group Finance & ProcurementManager.
• Reconcile cash and scheme funeral services rendered with funds received from the bank.
• Provide accurate debtors report which agrees with General ledger and Trial Balance.
• Follow up on outstanding debtors.
• Provide input on enhancing internal controls.
Responsible to provide all information required by the Internal & External Auditors.
• Input and process new information on invoices.
• Maintain and file invoices.
• Update client details on the system.
• Assist management with ad hoc duties.

Icebolethu Security is currently in search of suitable candidates to fill the position of a Securityguard located in Ntshongweni. The position is available on a Permanent basis within the Security company of Icebolethu Group.
Responsibilities
Icebolethu Group is looking for a competent Security Guard to monitor, safe guard and undertake thesurveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors, resources and equipment.
You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behaviour and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal activities.
A security guard must be well-trained in guarding, surveillance and dealing with perpetrators.
The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The ideal candidate will help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problem-free.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Matric
• PSIRA registered
• Fire-arm Competency/license in handgun or Shotgun

Experience and Competencies required:
• 2 years minimum experience as a security guard or Security Officer
• Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
• Report writing skills
• Advanced / Defensive driving skills

• Physical health and fitness
• Strong Communication Skills
• Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems and Communication Equipment.
• Trained in First Aid/BLS
• Trained in self-defense
Key Performance Areas
• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
• Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
• Provide assistance to people in need
• Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences
• Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
