Minimum Requirements: B.Bibl/ B.LIS / B tech:LIS / B.Inf (Hons) or PG DIP LIS or
Equivalent 4-year post matric qualification •5-8 years relevant experience •Code B Driver’s
License •Registered member of LIASA.
Duties will entail: Report to the Manager: Library and Information Services •Responsible to
co-ordinate the libraries, staff and operations of the Saldanha Bay Library Services in the
Northern cluster (St Helena Bay, Vredenburg, Laingville and Paternoster) by monitoring the
execution of procedural sequences/requirements in associate with aligning standards to meet
customer objectives •The organisation of information, interacting and providing users with
information from various media, creating an environment conducive to learning through the
arrangement of displays and signage of new library materials and attending to administrative
reporting and record updating requirements of the various sections of the Saldanha Bay library
services in the Northern cluster in accordance with the relevant legislation and policies •
Implement procedures and processes and manages all aspects associated with the provision
of a comprehensive library services, by supervising day-to-day functions; performance
managing personnel; providing professional direction ; developing and maintaining partnership
and relations, to ensure that the communities in the Northern cluster receives an effective
and efficient service that is relevant to their needs.

Sewer Suction truck • Valid Code EC driver’s license with PrDP • Good communication skills
in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
Duties will entail: Performs routine work • Takes basic instruction • Performs driving a
heavy-duty truck in different road conditions, operating levers, operating pneumatic
instruments and vacuum and pressure pumps • Minimise spillages during emptying of
conservancy tanks and during haulage • Operate basic implement checks, open and closing
valves and safe operation in hazardous environment.
