ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE MANAGER
An exciting Enterprise Architecture opportunity exists at our Head Office in South
Africa, to join our Digital and Technology (DigiTech) business unit as an Enterprise
Architecture Manager. We invite applications from individuals who are passionate
about promoting South Africa as a Tourism Destination and possess the required skills
and experience.
Purpose of the Role
The Enterprise Architecture role is responsible for driving greater operational
efficiency through technology and system/application architecture planning,
development, implementation and support. This involves business requirements
analysis, development, implementation, support and monitoring of business systems
and technology (including Digital platforms) as well as project management.
Key Performance Areas:
Functional integration of business solutions across multiple domains
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of the system and technology
architecture and repository; - Monitor and assess the effectiveness of application/systems and technology
architecture models; - Analyse and select standards, industry recognized methodologies and tools
involved in the design and management of processes; - Review the DigiTech strategy and ensure alignment to Business strategy while
understanding its implications on enterprise architecture; - Conduct repeatable strategy, architecture, roadmap and planning workshops
and identify quick wins; - Lead detailed discovery analysis;
- Serve as the subject matter expert with respect to Enterprise systems for
configuration, customization and usage, maximizing end user adoption; - Review, analyse, and develop cost effective and efficient solutions in line
with user/business requirements; - Identify relative system priorities and schedules that mitigates business and
system risk; - Identify and monitor system integration opportunities and initiatives systems;
- Apply revisions, upgrades, and performance reviews to enterprise software.
Solution analysis, design and impact management and identification
- Ensure adherence to adopted methodologies or frameworks for business
solution implementations; - Develop and maintain business process and system documentation and
workflows in support of process improvement activities enabled by
information technology; - Formulate alternative system solutions to meet overall business objectives;
- Develop new system implementation plans, custom scripts and testing
procedures to ensure operational reliability, high availability and system
security of enterprise services; - Establish guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the
host environment and client tools; - Develop procedures and documentation for backup and restoration of host
operating systems and host-based applications and Disaster Recover/
Continuity of Operations (DR/COOP) capabilities; - Develop tools, procedures, and training sessions for operations and other
customer support organizations; - Design and update operational Reports as per information needs.
Improve processes efficiency and operations productivity
- Stay current with technological developments and provide recommendations
on how to take advantage of new advancements; - Identify methods, solutions, and provide project leadership and management
in order to provide a high level of service to SA Tourism staff and
management; - Ensure system security across enterprise application services, including
contribution to security best practices; - Create business partnering through provision of services as per technology
developments in DigiTech vs Tourism industries. - Ensure good system availability;
- Prepare periodical reports and make presentations as required;
- Support change management initiatives as per Business systems
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science;
- TOGAF Certificate;
- Project Management Certification;
- MIS/Business Intelligence Qualification is added advantage;
- 6 years in experience Systems Architecture;
- 6-year Expertise in ICT services management, Business Analysis and Business
Process Improvement; - 4-5 years Expertise in System Design;
- 3-6 years’ knowledge of Change;
- Strong awareness of technology products;
- 3-6 years’ experience Database architecture;
- 3-6 years’ experience Enterprise security architecture;
- 3-6 years’ expertise of Business intelligence and data warehousing.

TRADE TRAINING SPECIALIST UNITED KINGDOM
An exciting opportunity exists for a Trade Training Specialist to join the UK office in
Central London. If you are passionate about South Africa, travel and tourism and
possess the required qualifications and skills, we invite you to apply.
This role is pivotal in managing communication with frontline travel trade
professionals, leading training initiatives, coordinating familiarisation trips, and
representing South African Tourism at key industry events.
Trade Operational Performance (60%)
- Coordinate communications with travel trade via digital and social
platforms. - Develop and implement trade training strategy and roll-out plans.
- Co-develop market-specific training materials (online and face-to-face).
- Design and deliver training presentations and resources.
- Monitor post-training performance and provide follow-up support.
- Represent SA Tourism at travel shows, workshops, and events.
- Present at trade sales seminars, consumer shows, and workshops.
- Execute trade engagement plans and collaborate with leadership.
- Build and leverage trade relationships to enhance brand awareness.
- Plan, lead, and evaluate return on investment (ROI) for hosted
familiarisation (FAM) trips to South Africa as part of training
programmes.Manage SAT-owned training events. - Support UK Hub initiatives (e.g. new routes, niche marketing, SMMEs).
Trade Coordination and Admin (20%)
- Coordinate trade engagement projects and joint campaigns.
- Maintain and update CRM database of travel agents.
- Complete forward-planning admin tasks and monthly reports.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (10%)
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in South Africa and the UK.
- Collaborate with provincial tourism authorities and trade partners.
- Provide advisory support to business unit heads and marketing teams.
- Foster partnerships with representation companies and industry players.
General Participation (10%)
- Operate within delegated authorisations and SA Tourism values.
- Prepare monthly reports and participate in governance structures.
- Support implementation of management decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum: A-Level standard or equivalent.
- Preferred: Diploma or tertiary qualification in relevant field.
- Min 2 years experience within the UK Travel Trade Landscape.
- Competent with Microsoft Office suite, social media, CRM systems, and able
to learn other online platforms. - Full UK driving licence is essential for travel to events and trade shows.
- Permission to work in the United Kingdom via passport or visa, SA Tourism
does not offer Work Permit Sponsorship.

DIGITAL CHANNEL MANAGER – THE FUTURE OF TOURISM MARKETING
South African Tourism is seeking a visionary Digital Channel Manager to lead the evolution
of our digital ecosystem and position South Africa as Africa’s most innovative, connected and
inspiring destination. This role is ideal for a digital leader who thrives on leveraging data,
technology, and storytelling to inspire travellers and convert awareness into measurable
bookings across web, social platforms, and the South African Tourism Traveller App.
Purpose of the Role
The Digital Channel Manager will shape, execute, and scale South African Tourism’s digital
marketing and app strategies to drive measurable brand growth, audience engagement, and
lead conversions. This role goes beyond channel management; it’s about building an
innovative, data-driven, future-proof digital ecosystem that connects travellers to
unforgettable South African experiences and inspires them to say: “South Africa is next on
my travel list.”
This position reports directly to the General Manager: Brand and Marketing and works in
close collaboration with cross-functional teams, tourism partners, technology providers, and
agencies to deliver integrated, high-impact digital marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the digital ecosystem: Oversee SA Tourism’s owned digital platforms, including
website, social media platforms, and the South African Tourism App, ensuring a
seamless, world-class user experience. - App growth & engagement:
o Lead app marketing and growth strategies (organic and paid).
o Drive acquisition, retention, and engagement through personalised content,
push notifications, loyalty features, and gamification.
o Integrate app journeys into broader campaign strategies. - Innovation & technology adoption: Identify and integrate emerging technologies
(e.g., AI personalisation, predictive targeting, automation) to enhance user journeys
across app, web, and social media. - Data intelligence & reporting:
o Develop advanced analytics frameworks.
o Track and optimise performance across all channels in real time.
o Translate insights into actionable campaign decisions. - Channel strategy: Execute holistic strategies for SEO, SEM, display, paid social,
influencer amplification, and app promotion to deliver against KPIs. - Performance marketing: Partner with media and creative agencies to design datadriven campaigns that maximise ROI and increase travel conversions.
- Digital experience: Work with UX, product, content, and brand teams to deliver
personalised, high-impact experiences across all touchpoints. - Trend leadership: Monitor mobile and digital engagement trends, emerging platform
innovations, and shifting traveller behaviour to keep South African Tourism at the
forefront of digital destination marketing. - Stakeholder alignment: Collaborate with internal business units, tourism partners,
and technology providers to build and execute a coherent digital roadmap with the
app at its core. - Strategic advisory: Provide leadership teams with clear performance dashboards,
campaign reports, and insights to inform investment and innovation decisions.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated expertise in digital strategy, performance marketing, and mobile/app
growth. - Proven ability to develop and manage data-driven acquisition and retention
strategies. - Deep knowledge of analytics, data visualisation, attribution modelling, and
conversion optimisation. - Experience integrating and managing marketing technology platforms (GA4, CRM,
SEO/SEM tools, paid media dashboards). - Strong stakeholder engagement and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate
data into strategic action. - Experience leading or mentoring teams/agencies.
- A growth mindset focused on innovation and measurable outcomes, driven by
curiosity, innovation, and a commitment to impact.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- IMM/Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in digital marketing and strategy development.
- Demonstrable track record in app marketing and mobile growth.
- Experience with media planning, performance optimisation, and analytics.
- Experience in tourism, travel, or global consumer brands is advantageous.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable growth across multiple digital touchpoints.
Knowledge and understanding of:
- Understanding of government policies, strategic priorities, and compliance
frameworks (PFMA, Public Service Act, Treasury Regulations) - Tourism industry and Marketing and Advertising principles and standards
- Performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting frameworks, systems and
processes - Knowledge of national legislation related to communication and information
management - Awareness of public service systems and reporting structures.
