Job Title Sales Director HR & Payroll
Job Description We are seeking a results-driven and strategic sales leader to head up our HR & Payroll sales function across South Africa, the Rest of Africa, and the Middle East within the Medium Business segment. This role is accountable for accelerating new business growth, increasing sales bookings, and consistently delivering against ambitious revenue targets.
You will lead high-performing sales teams, cultivate strong customer and partner relationships, and ensure seamless onboarding of new clients to drive sustainable, long-term growth.

Location – 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute impactful sales strategies, plans, and tactical initiatives to drive revenue growth.

  • Lead and inspire Sales Managers to generate new business and expand market share.
  • Optimise pipeline performance through accurate tracking, forecasting, and deal management.
  • Partner with Product Development to influence enhancements and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing to strengthen lead generation and improve lead quality.
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing HR & Payroll sales teams through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Deliver on product line revenue targets and ensure consistent quota achievement.
  • Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), generate insights, and maintain clear reporting dashboards.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders and business partners.
  • Drive operational excellence and ensure efficient, high-quality execution across all sales activities.
  • Forecast quarterly sales performance to support budgeting and resource planning, presenting insights to the VP of Medium Business.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic direction.

Skills, Experience & Expertise

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification (preferably in Finance, Business, or IT).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a customer-facing role (sales, pre-sales, or customer service).
  • Proven track record in sales management and leading successful teams.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and demonstration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel across regions as required.

Technical / Professional Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 300 People.
  • Solid understanding of the HR & Payroll industry within South Africa.
