POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Program Associate – Sector Networks supports the operational coordination and delivery of sector-based programs and activities within Africa Career Networks (ACN). Working closely with the Program Manager, the Associate is responsible for program administration, participant communication, data tracking, reporting support, and execution logistics across Sector Success, Sector Challenge, employer engagement, career acceleration, and community engagement activities. The role ensures operational efficiency and continuity by coordinating virtual events, monitoring LMS engagement and participant progress, managing CRM and employer records, tracking opportunities and placements, and supporting onboarding and engagement activities. The Associate also contributes to sector reporting, dashboard development, attendance tracking, and follow-up communication while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting the achievement of sector growth, placement, and engagement targets. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, support high-quality program execution, and contribute to an engaging and professional network experience for participants and partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project coordination and delivery
- Coordinate operational delivery of sector programs including Sector Success, Sector Challenge, community engagement activities, and participant support processes.
Employer and stakeholder engagement
- Maintain employer engagement records, support opportunity tracking, coordinate communication, and manage follow-up documentation and logistics.
Data Management and reporting
- Track participant engagement, placements, attendance, LMS activity, dashboards, and support reporting cycles and data accuracy.
Events and Network Engagement
- Coordinate virtual and regional event logistics, registrations, communication, onboarding, and post-event engagement activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Medical or Biomedical Sciences, Social Sciences, International Development, Management, Communications, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of professional experience in program coordination, operations, project administration, partnerships, youth development, career development, or ecosystem engagement.
- Experience supporting multi-stakeholder programs, events, learning initiatives, or professional networks.
- Experience working with digital tools including LMS platforms, CRM systems, spreadsheets, and reporting dashboards.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience working on projects, healthcare, workforce development, professional development, consulting, entrepreneurship, innovation, or talent development ecosystems.
- Familiarity with employer engagement, internship coordination, learning programs, or community engagement initiatives.
- Experience supporting virtual learning, events, fellowships, or youth-focused programs across African contexts.

Student Life Administrator
Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Student Life Administrator works in the Office of the Dean to advance the Residential and Student Life operational priorities and initiatives. This is an ideal position for a detail- oriented Administrator who can alternate between being flexible and creative in designing processes and being routine-oriented and comfortable with enforcing compliance to key processes in data capturing and implementing key activities. The Student Life Administrator is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and documenting processes, activities, and exercises to roll out in a fast-paced learning environment, in collaboration with the Director of Pastoral Care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Travel and Logistics
- Responsible for liaising directly with ALA’s travel agency to coordinate and oversee all travel bookings for students. This includes booking requisitions on Sage for both ground and air travel.
- Support with being a bridge between Student Life administration and Faculty on matters pertaining to students’ day on campus, and plans to exit and get necessary documentation in place, including Faculty on
- Duty and the Residential team
- Managing student- initiated exits and planning for off-campus trips by liaising with support teams and other stakeholders to logistically prepare for each trip and processes around facilitating safe travel,
- compliance and return
- Lead logistics and plans for student-facing activities and arrangements enabling a positive student experience (on and off campus) and stay in South Africa
- Coordinate the distribution of key on and off-campus information and resources apt for students who stay in a full-time boarding environment
- Compiling and archiving student holiday travel details and liaising with the ground transportation team to finalise airport and station transfers to and from campus during holiday seasons for consumption by the ALA community
- Capture, maintain, and update student life and support data and information while keeping relevant consultation with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and be the principal liaison for off-campus trips and travel logistics
- Managing and coordinating travel arrangements, flight bookings, etc. for students
- Manage the Student Chaperone program towards maintaining safety and aligning them to the culture and standards of this place
Student Support and Stakeholder Management
- Support the learning culture of the two-year diploma program by engaging meaningfully with student groups and leaders
- Running orientation and termly refresher sessions around key student life information
- Ability to complete cash reconciliation statements relating to students’ cash transactions, etc.
- Following up with the Finance and Procurement Departments on any student-facing, vendor, or other stakeholder payments
- Establishing, testing, and improving uniform distribution, residential store, travel, and student banking protocols
- Supporting the running of student life events by liaising with faculty and student groups in scheduling,
- making payments and connecting groups to external vendors and stakeholders while communicating key information regarding student activities to residential faculty and other stakeholders
- Using various communication channels, including but not limited to the studentlife@email address, towards effective, timely communication with stakeholders and campus information boards by displaying & distributing relevant information for campus community consumption
Office Management and Special Projects
- Design, implement, and review projects and processes that allow for students, faculty, parents, and other stakeholders to be up to date with the expectations of ALA student life
- Supporting the Director of Pastoral Care in key deliverables pertaining to Student Life management and administration
- Establishing, testing, and improving student information, records, and processes for general student life management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA
Required Education and Experience:
- At least a Diploma/Higher Certificate in administration
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in student services, operations, or residential life (preferred)
- Experience working with students in the 16 – 20 age range.
- Experience in project coordination, logistics, or operations management

The Data Associate role is an entry-level position within the Institutional Learning department at the African Leadership Academy. The role primarily involves managing Salesforce user setups, maintaining data integrity, and supporting internal operations through data management. Key responsibilities include updating and validating records, building dashboards, transferring data between systems, and monitoring data quality.

Salesforce Administration:

- Monitor data quality and run bulk updates as needed.

Data Management:
- Maintain and update subscriber records meticulously in various online portals, ensuring accuracy and consistency at all times.
- Transfer and standardize data across multiple systems, ensuring that information is seamlessly integrated

MERL Support:

Hall Head – Diploma Program
Job Description
Job Overview:
The Hall Head (HH) is responsible for supporting the health, safety, and well-being of residential students and overseeing community development within their designated residence halls. Reporting to the Director of Pastoral Care (DoPC), the Hall Head supervises Resident Assistants (RAs) and other student leaders within the residential spaces, manages hall activities, and fosters students’ personal, interpersonal, and intellectual growth.
The Hall Head manages two halls, keeps accountability towards the delivery of an excellent residential life program in their Halls, oversees the well-being of the students and holds students up to expectations in residential life
Key Responsibilities:
Student Well-Being & Safety
- Ensure a clean, organised, and safe living environment by conducting regular room checks and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Address and report maintenance and safety concerns to the Director of Pastoral Care.
- Monitor student health and provide necessary referrals for medical or emotional concerns.
- Enforce ALA’s policies on safety, conduct, and personal responsibility.
Community Building
- Foster an inclusive and engaging community within the residence halls.
- Organise and lead hall meetings, ensuring students actively participate in community life.
- Support students in managing stress, homesickness, and personal challenges.
- Encourage peer mentorship and positive interpersonal relationships.
Student Leadership Development
- Supervise and mentor Resident Assistants (RAs) and other student leaders.
- Guide students in self-leadership, accountability, and communal responsibility.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with student leaders to review dorm activities and address concerns.
Program Support
- Ensure evening, weekend, and long weekend duty is conducted.
