We are currently seeking applications from dynamic individuals for the following position:

  • Position: Fund Financial Accountant
  • *Job Grade: D1 – D5

Purpose of the role:
The Fund Financial Accountant is a key member of the Investment Finance Division, responsible for
delivering strategic financial support to the investment teams. This role focuses on providing highquality accounting, analytical insights, financial reporting, and technical accounting expertise to
enable sound investment decisions and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • BCom Honours degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA(SA) or CFA designation will be advantageous.
  • 5–7 years’ relevant experience, preferably within Asset Management or the Financial
    Services industry

Duties:
Trade Processing

  • Ensure all trades are executed, reviewed, reconciled, and accurately reflected through price
    loads across reporting systems

Reconciliation

  • Ensure all cash and scrip reconciliations are performed, reviewed, and exceptions cleared
    within one reconciliation cycle

Corporate Actions

  • Process and assess all corporate actions accurately, ensuring the correct reflection of fund
    positions and valuations.

Reporting and Client Service

  • Deliver scheduled and ad hoc portfolio reports to stakeholders, proactively flagging and
    resolving material issues.
  • Manage financial reporting and audit-related processes.
  • Calculate monthly management fees, release payments, and support audit processes while
    identifying control improvements.
  • Guide and support Junior Fund Accountants, reviewing their work before submission or
    release.

Key Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Companies Act,
    Income Tax Act, PFMA, and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of Investment Financial Reporting Systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
