The Department of Building and Estates has Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
positions in Pretoria, Soshanguve and Ga-Rankuwa Campuses:
Key Performance areas/ Core functions:
- The operations Portfolio invites applications for WIL and Internship from TUT student
and graduates in the Built Environment. - Candidates will be placed in the Building and Estates Directorate whist others will be
places with the Consultants and/or Contractors working at the University.

Department: Corporate Affairs & Marketing has an eighteen (18) months fixed-term contract
position for Industrial Editor at Pretoria Campus.
Critical Performance Areas
- Source, write and edit news contributions for the TUT website, student and staff
publications. - Conceptualize and write/compile traditional and digital marketing material for the
University, including brochures, flyers, posters, advertising copy, facts and figures,
commemorative publications and annual reports. - Commissioned writing for special projects.
Minimum Requirements: - NQF level 7
A relevant 3/4 year qualification:
A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 360 credits in Communication/Journalism/Media
and Publications
Experience:
Three years’ relevant experience in writing, journalism

The Institute for the Future of Works has a 5 years fixed-term contract for Administrative
Officer position at PL10. The position is based at Ditsela Place, Hatfield.
Main Purpose: Tshwane University of Technology’s Institute For the Future of Work is looking
for a skilled and detail-oriented Administrative Officer to join our team. The preferred candidate
should be highly organized and a team player with a demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced
environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. The focus of the role is to provide
administrative support to our executives and ensure the smooth running of our office.
Critical Performance Areas:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including scheduling meetings and
appointments, organizing files, and handling correspondence. - Act as the point of contact between executives and internal/external stakeholders.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for the executives as required.
- Prepare meeting minutes for review by the project leaders before distribution.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for executives and handle related logistics.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment by ensuring compliance with health
and safety regulations. - Organize and maintain the office filing system, including databases, electronic and hard
copy documents. - Process and track invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documents as required.
- Manage inventory of office supplies and equipment and order new supplies as needed.
- Manage the venue bookings at Ditsela Place for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that IFOW events and projects are profilied on IFOW platforms and liasing with
Corporate Affairs and Marketing to ensure they are also profilied on TUT platforms.
Minimum Requirements
- 3 year relevant qualification in Administration/ Public Relations/ Marketing and or Project
Management (NQF Level 7 with a minimum of 360 credits) - At least five years relevant experience, with three years proven experience as
administrative officer or a relevant position. - Excellent interpersonal and relational competencies.
- High level of computer proficiency as appropriate to office management.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.Flexibility and willingness to work after hours and on weekends when necessary.

Research Specialist

The Institute for the Future of Work has a 5 years fixed-term contract for Research Specialist
position at PL7. The position is based at Ditsela Place, Hatfield.
Main Purpose: This is a key role within the Institute for the Future of Work (IFOW) with
responsibility for managing and delivering research and development work across the various
divisions of IFOW. The role involves the design and development of research projects;
managing budgets and resources; working effectively with team members, partners, funders
and other stakeholders; overseeing delivery of high quality research; and ensuring that IFOW’s
work makes an impact on policy and practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong research
skill, research management skills and project management experience.
Critical Performance Areas
- Design research projects, manage research team, deliver research projects across the
various divisions of IFOW - provide research reports using statistical methods and software, such as SPSS or SAS,
to identify trends and patterns - Liaise with funders, TUT faculties and researchers within budget
- Ensure projects are implemented, delivered on time and within the allocated budget
- Prepare research papers and concept notes for IFOW’s thought leadership sessions.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on research progress and findings,
including trends aligned to the future of work and the requisite skills. - Ensure that research projects meet all ethical and legal guidelines.
- Ensure that IFOW research findings are widely published across various platforms.
- Supervise research staff, including hiring and training new employees, and maintaining a
positive work environment. - Collaborate with TUT faculties and departments to ensure that research results are
integrated into the university strategy and decision-making. - Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging research methods.
Represent IFOW with key stakeholders – including the industry, industry bodies,
government, trusts and foundations, providers, and other research centres and think
tanks.
Minimum Requirements
- NQF level 9 in Economics, Social Sciences, Engineering or related field of study (NQF
9). - (A relevant Master’s Degree in field of expertise
- 4 years relevant experience in research, research management and project
management. - Strong proficiency in qualitative and quantintative research methodologies including the
use of such statistical software, such as SPSS, SAS, or R. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight
deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting complex
data to senior management. - Experience supervising staff and fostering a positive work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge
- Understanding and applicating a range of research and evaluation methodologies.
- Understanding of the 4IR and its implications on the future of work and in turn, the
greater society. - Understanding of learning, skills and/or employment policy and/or practice across
industries.

and development projects including effective and efficient resource allocation. - Strong organisational and planning skills, that ensure work is effectively

- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage
a range of audiences, stakeholders, funders and partners. - Proven skills in writing for and speaking to a range of audiences to ensure wider
impact.
