The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is a premier science institution that conducts research with

FACILITIES OFFICER (RE-ADVERT)
Key Performance Areas:
- Manage office space planning according to needs of end users.
- Liaise with scientists and researchers regarding their strategic needs and requirements within the
section. - Carry out improvement and maintenance of the building, heavy machinery, farm equipment and other equipment such as air conditioner, graders, tractors and frontend diggers and laboratory equipment.
- Provide AP Facilities budget inputs and adhere to the allocated budget.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of Occupational health and safety Act and relevant regulations and that a culture of safety is engendered throughout the Campus.
- Train personnel to ensure compliance and product optimisation.
- Ensure and maintain good housekeeping, equipment inspections and testing including facility detection.
- Identify redundant facilities to use such to raise external income.
- Supervise and manage technical, transport and asset staff within the section.
- Implementation and awareness drives and exercise all forms of security to ensure a safe and risk-free
working environment for all. - Assist in the establishment and maintenance of policies and procedures for asset and acquisition,
recording, control and disposal. - Manage the fleet and all aspects related to transport for the campus.
- Undertake effective asset management through the alignment of policies to ensure optimal utilisation, longevity, security and safety of assets.
- Management of lease agreement and contract i.e., cleaning, security, plumbing, electrical and cooling & registration service etc.
- Ensure payments of service rendered are paid timeously within the stipulated turnaround period of 30 days.
- Ensure compliance with finance policies and regulations i.e. PMFA, National Treasury Regulation etc.
- Undertake ongoing farm inspections across Irene Campus and Outstations pertaining to facilities
matters. - Facilitate the procurement of facilities items and partake in the acquisition of Capital projects or any
adhoc requests.
Requirements:
- A National Diploma in Facilities, Business, Property, Management or equivalent qualification within
built/facilities environment. - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Facilities Management.
- Extensive knowledge of hard/technical and soft services.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain, Project & Contract Management i.e., management of cleaning, security
services etc. - Extensive knowledge and application of Health and Safety Regulation.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suites.
- Extensive and knowledge of security and assets management.
- Good communication, problem solving, ability to handle pressure, planning and organisational skills.
- A valid South African driver’s licence.
- People, budget and business management skills

SENIOR STORES CLERK
Key Performance Areas:
- Stores and warehousing administration.
- Issuing out and receiving Stock (physical and system).
- Managing Stock level, conducting weekly spot checks, monthly stock counts and annually major
year counts for closing of financial period. - Investigate any variances/discrepancies on stock and report to superiors.
- Receive deliveries inspect if applicable and dispatch to end-users.
- Match delivery Invoice with Order, issue GRN and forward invoice pack for payment.
- Follow-up on Open orders and Payments.
- Closing of Purchase orders not needed anymore.
- Source new suppliers at Institute level and manage the Institute’s Database.
- Update existing Suppliers information in the database.
- Sourcing of Quotations below R 30 000 and Evaluation of Supplier’s Performance.
- Prepare All required reports for Institute, Central office and Audits as required
Requirements:
- National Diploma or Higher in Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Logistics/Inventory, or
related field. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Stores/Logistics/Warehouse/Acquisition in the public sector

HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR
Key Performance Areas:
- Render and maintain quality Human Capital Administration services that conform to personnel needs
and those of the ARC. - Ensure that all Human Capital Administration queries are dealt with in an accurate, timeous and in
a professional manner. - Assist with effective coordination of performance management system.
- Effectively coordinate the reconciliation process of Human Capital Management instruction to
Payroll. - Render and maintain quality human resources benefits administration system.
- Render and maintain quality Pension/Provident fund administration service.
- Effective coordination
- Coordinate the staff recruitment and selection process, i.e., prepare notice of the interviews,
schedule, and coordinate interviews, conduct reference checks, prepare interview reports. - Provide Human Capital support for all Human Capital Management related activities.
- Update employees’ information on the Human Capital system.
- Assist in the coordination of the reconciliation process of Human Capital instructions to payroll.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Human Resources Management or Equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years HR administration experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant HR legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Fully bilingual.

ASSETS CLERK
Key Performance Areas:
- Link new assets to assets structures.
- Perform annual fixed asset verification.
- Capture transfer of assets on the assets structure.
- Assist with annual assessment of fixed assets.
- Load fixed assets onto FAR.
- Render logical support services, demand, and acquisition.
- Regularly update assets register to comply to GRAP.
- Ensure that assets register is completed and complies to National treasury norms and standards.
- Update assets acquisition, renewal movements, transfers and disposals.
- Ensure that the finance leased assets register is accurate, complete and complies with the
requirements of GRAP. - Ensure proper filing system for future references.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Assets Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Assets Management.
- Drivers Licence.
