Biodiversity Compliance Coordinator

Requirements

  • A three-year national diploma or university degree in Nature Conservation or equivalent;
  • At least 3 years’ experience on a nature reserve or similar environment;
  • Basic understanding of ecological knowledge is essential;
  • Experience in law enforcement and conservation compliance is required;
  • Working knowledge of environmental legislation, policies and project processes with strong emphasis on biodiversity is essential, whereas understanding of local government functions
    are advantageous;
  • Experience in filming by-laws and water by-laws in a Nature Conservation/Natural Aquifers or similar environment is advantageous;
  • Must be a qualified Peace Officer and Environmental Management Inspectorate (EMI) qualification is advantageous;
  • Good public relations and conflict resolution skills;
  • Experience in conservation communication; environmental education and running school programmes is advantageous;
  • The incumbent must be physically fit, able bodied and prepared to work outside normal working hours;
  • Bilingual in two of three official languages of the Eastern and Western Cape (Afrikaans/ English/ IsiXhosa);
  • Computer Literate (MS Office, Microsoft Outlook); and
  • Valid Code B Driver’s Licence is essential, however, off-Road driving skills especially on thick sand is an added advantage.

Key Performance Areas

  • Conservation Compliance and Law Enforcement Strategy and management.
  • Managing illegal off-road vehicles access, hunting of
    fauna and flora using relevant legislation and provincial ordinances.
  • Responding to ecological disasters: such as oil spills, pollution events, off-road vehicles accidents within the nature reserve etc.
  • Human Resource Management: Ensure that all staff members have access to training intervention as per the approved Work Place Skills Plan.
  • Stakeholder Interface and Communication: Establishing and managing nature reserve forums/advisory groups.

Call Centre Agent

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum of 2 years’ call centre or Customer Care Experience
  • Computer proficiency(MS office, Skype and SAP)
  • Literacy in SAP applications (C3, CICO, GIS, etc.)
  • Fully bilingual in at least 2 official languages of the Western Cape
  • Must be willing to work shifts

Key Performance Areas

  • Attend to all customer interactions in a consistent and accurate manner
  • Solve customer queries efficiently and appropriately
  • Resolve a minimum of 80% of customer complaints and queries.
  • Act as a buddy to new staff and transfer of knowledge
  • Efficient logging of calls via SAP
  • Build relationships with department within the City

MULTI-MEDIA PRODUCER

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Film, Interactive/ Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Content Creation, Communication Arts, Information Design, or equivalent
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in developing video material and editing material appropriate for use in a multimedia environment
  • Capable of working with sound or video equipment in the making of material
  • Good working knowledge of the following fields:
  • Using video and ancillary production equipment
  • Using multimedia video-based software such as Photoshop, In Design and After Effects
  • Trends and developments in the multi-media/social media environments
  • Working with video production technical people (videographers; graphic designers, scriptwriters, animators, etc.)
  • Working with the post-production of video material to finalise material for publication
  • Metatagging content for archiving.

Key Performance Areas

  • Create and oversee multimedia content for a variety of media platforms.
  • Apply visual design best practice principles to the design and development of static and interactive elements (graphics, videos, animations, voice recordings, interactive simulations, etc.),
    while maintaining the City’s CI standards.
  • Conceptualise, develop, design, produce, edit, and direct media projects; or the operation, maintenance and/or oversight of media facilities, production, recordkeeping, and distribution-related activities. It will also include the management of in-house specialists and external contractors.

Senior Payroll and Benefits Administration

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (B Tech or B degree) in Human Resources, Public Administration, Finance or a similar field
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in a payroll and benefits environment coupled with three (3) years’ supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP-based payroll administration would be advantageous.

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide a professional corporate payroll and benefits administration service to clients
  • Manage and monitor the consistent application of approved business processes; controls measures and risk
  • Project management
  • Oversee the approved payroll cut-off dates; absence management policy and specialist adjustments and promote the production of acceptable quality payroll results that meet audit requirements
  • Ensue supervision of staff to effectively measure performance, including but not limited to leave and absence management, performance and development, formal and informal disciplinary issues

Stores Clerk

Requirements

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  • At least 5 years relevant storekeeping experience
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management processes and procedures and applicable legislation
  • Computer literacy (incl. SAP ISM processes and MS office applications)
  • A valid code EC driver’s license (advantageous).

Key Performance Areas

  • Receiving and issuing of materials by ensuring correct quantity and quality.
  • Recording non-conformities in all stock and materials received. (PAR’s and NCR’s)
  • Exercising plant-to –plant transfers in case of nonavailability of stock in another store or redistribution of slow-moving stock.
  • Reporting routine building and equipment maintenance requirements as part of Health and Safety checks.
  • Control the material replenishment plan (MRP to prevent out of stock situations
  • Identifying obsolete or damaged stock items and/ or asset inventory items for possible disposal by public action.
  • Maintaining the security of stock in the stores in order to ensure accountability of Council assets.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping that conforms to the Occupational Health and Safety act
  • Carrying out physical stocktaking- continuously, monthly, quarterly and yearly by reconciling related stock balances.
  • Checking stock turnover and/or movement by identifying redundant and/ or obsolete
  • Supervision of staff, in terms of disciplinary procedures, training, time and attendance.

Artisan (Memorials, Monuments and Permanent Public Art)

Requirements

  • Relevant trade certificate, Bricklaying or similar
  • 3 years or more relevant experience working with Heritage buildings/structures
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office)
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence
  • Note: Incumbent must be prepared to work outside of normal working hours and at various geographic locations throughout the City

Key Performance Areas

  • Conduct minor restoration, repairs and maintenance of the City’s permanent public art, memorials, monuments and cultural facilities
  • Assists immediate supervisor with regular inspections and inventory updates of the City’s permanent public art, memorials and monuments; temporary public art; and cultural facilities
  • Completes internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, log sheets, vehicle checklists etc.) and related forms (progress and productivity reports, inventory updates, conditional assessments
    etc.)

HR Business Partner (HS)

Requirements

  • An appropriate Degree
  • Eight (8) years’ relevant managerial and functional experience.

Key Performance Areas

  • Champion HR initiatives, interventions and strategies and take accountability for ensuring effective implementation of the HR function within Human Settlements Directorate.
  • Ensure consistent implementation and application of corporate human resources.
  • Provide guidance and expert professional advice to line departments on matters relating to talent management, employee relations, organizational development, human resource-related policies, procedures and legislation, occupational health and safety, training and development, performance management, job evaluation and remuneration.

Events Permit Officer

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • 5 years’ relevant experience in an events regulatory environment
  • Proficiency in Ms Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of the Events Policy and Events By-Law
  • Knowledge of the Safety at Sports and Recreation at Events Act
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within specified timeframes
  • Ability to engage a range of stakeholders

Key Performance Areas

  • Supporting and assisting the Head: Events and Film Permitting in delivering high quality services to the events industry.
  • Engaging relevant stakeholders on event permit processes and the mitigation of risks associated with the hosting of events in the City.
  • Providing feedback and risks reports to Event organisers, Event Coordination Committee an immediate superiors and relevant stakeholders
  • Driving compliance to the Events Policy, By-Law and Safety at Sports and Recreation Events Act (SASREA)
  • Advising and assisting applicants with event permitting processes
  • Liaising with City Services and other stakeholders necessary for the granting of an event permit

Senior Professional Nurse

Requirements

  • Current registration with the SANC
  • A diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
  • Trained and competent in Medical TOP and Surgical TOP. ( manual evacuation procedure)
  • Certificates in both Medical TOP and Surgical TOP.
  • Diplomas/certificates in any of the following will be advantageous: Community Nursing Science; Clinical Nursing Science; Health Assessment and Treatment and Care (Adults and Paediatrics)
  • Experience gained within a Primary Healthcare environment will be an advantage
  • Proven counselling skills
  • A valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas

  • Provision of medical and surgical TOP services at PHC level
  • Provision of a comprehensive Primary Healthcare service, child health, ART, TB HIV WELLNESS, sexual reproductive health, including TOP counselling
  • General administration and portfolio management
  • Training of students
  • Visit homes/businesses and nursery schools, do recalls and outreaches.
  • Undertake health education and promotion activities
