Job Purpose:

To respond to user-initiated inquiries ensuring a timely resolution/fulfillment to user requests, incidents, questions, and complaints, and to provide day-to-day hands-on support to the organization’s ICT support requirements. To ensure the backup administration for both on-premise and cloud backups, troubleshooting unsuccessful backups, and ensuring all jobs complete successfully. Provide reports and ensure restore simulations.

Key performance areas:

  • To respond to user-initiated enquiries ensuring a timely resolution/fulfillment to user requests, incidents, questions, and complaints in relation to backup and support.
  • To make input into operating policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • To report on performance and to identify and escalate performance constraints;
  • Manage on-premise and cloud backup environments.
  • Ensure backups and restores are done as per schedules
  • Ensure all exceptions are managed and reported on a daily basis.
  • Troubleshoot all exceptions within the backup environment.
  • Ensure offsite backup management as per best practices.

Qualifications and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on the successful candidate. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

 Required Minimum Education/training:

  • Matric/Senior Certificate
  • Diploma in IT
  • Backup Certification

 Required Minimum Experience:

  • 1 year experience in ICT support
  • 3 years of backup experience on-premise
  • 2 years’ experience in cloud backups.
