The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is a premier science institution that conducts research with partners, develops human capital and foster innovation in support of the agricultural sector. It

The ARC- Plant Health and Protection (ARC-PHP) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and
dynamic person to the following position at Roodeplaat, Pretoria:
FINANCE ASSISTANT (FIXED-TERM FOR 12 MONTHS)
Salary (R307 442-R461 159 p.a) all-inclusive remuneration package
Key Performance Areas:
Compile and evaluate the performance report of each project,
Prepare financial reports and proof of income reports to the funder,
Ensure that audit queries attended to and resolve as soon as possible,
Preparation and posting of journals,
Prepare General ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis,
Manage all externally funded projects to avoid operational losses and report losses to the Institute
Finance Manager,
Strong Excel skills essential,
Prepare and submit project budgets,
Ability to work in a team and independently,
Ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines,
Assist project managers with budget revisions,
Preferable knowledge of AX,
Invoicing external customers,
Follow up on outstanding debtors,
Manage petty cash
Manage S &T Claims and advances.
Requirements:
Bcom Accounting or relevant degree,
Three (3) years’ working experience in accounting assistant role,
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written),
Strong problem solving and analytical skills,
proficiency in the MS Office suite.
