DESIGNATION: Project Officer
REMUNERATION: R25 422,17 pm (basic salary, excluding benefits)
LOCATION: Various Regions within the City of Johannesburg

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 at NQF level 4 plus Diploma in Projects Management/Business
    Administration/Public Administration/Built environment sector (NQF level 6);
  • At least 1 – 3 years’ experience within Project Management/Business Administration/Public
    Administration/Built environment sector;
  • Valid driver’s license.

Primary Function:
Provide administrative and project support as well as Project Coordination on all and
or allocated housing development projects implemented by the Human Settlements
Department within the City of Johannesburg.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Participate in the identification and conceptualization of new housing projects
  • Assist and participate in the procurements of service providers in terms of the MFMA 2003
    in consultation with Group Strategic Supply Chain Management Unit (GSSCMU)
  • Monthly valuation and cash flow management
  • Coordinate and monitor projects within the unit of the PHP
  • To efficiently and effectively assist the operational assets and resources of the section cost
    effectively in accordance with the legislative framework of the City’s policies and
    procedures
  • Provide quality reports on the functions and performance of the PHP section which are
    factual, accurate and complete, timely and contributes to and support the overall reporting
    requirements.

Leading Competencies:

  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
  • Good communication (verbal and written);
  • Conflict Management and Listening skills;
  • Coordinating, Presentation and listening skills required.

Core Competencies:

  • Basic Knowledge of Project Management and Business Administration;
