Quantity Surveyors (3 positions)

Applications are invited from suitable and qualified candidates for the 3-year contract positions for Quantity Surveyor at Kruger National Park, stationed at Nxanatseni (one position) and Marula (two positions) regions. Reporting to the Programme Manager, Technical Services.

Requirements

• A recognized B Tech or B Sc (Honours) in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying
• Must be registered with SACQSP as a Professional or Candidate
• Computer Literate (MS Office Suit)
• Sound financial management skills required.
• A valid Code EB driver’s license and own car is essential
• Sound knowledge of the OHSACT and Construction Regulations
• Stable employment record and contactable references
• Must have experience in Win QS/CCS and Microsoft Office software competency

Responsibilities

• The incumbent will perform his/her duties in the allocated regions with trips to other construction sites regularly in Kruger National Park.
• The incumbent will perform effective control and management of cost and budget on projects.
• Provide support and expertise at every stage of the project from initial feasibility and proposal development/tendering through the settlement of the final project account.
• Site Measurements and preparation of Bill of Quantity,
• Prepare estimates, valuations, payment certificates and cost reports
• Prepare monthly cost billing and payment certificates.
• Assist with the preparation of management reports as and when required.
• Perform any other general estimating or quality surveying duties as may be directed by management. Comply with all internal control, policies procedures and standards
• Settle final accounts and closing projects
• Prepare procurement documentation including evaluation of tenders
• Financial control and cost reporting with predicted cash flow expenditure
• Assist contract management and value engineering
