Purpose of the position:
This individual will be responsible for managing the operational requirements regarding

PROCUREMENT AND STORE CONTROLLER – LICHTENBURG

Purpose of the position:
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for optimising purchasing processes, negotiating the best prices on technical machinery from various suppliers,,
spare parts and other machinery, managing inventory, and overseeing the procurement of high-quality products. You will also play a key role in
maintaining a safe and organised store environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Negotiating prices and terms of purchases or service agreements.
  • Preparing and submitting requisitions and purchase orders to management for approval based on negotiations with suppliers.
  • Visiting establishments to evaluate whether the needs of Epko are addressed by the product or service from supplier.
  • Maintaining an approved and preferred vendor list that will deliver the best goods or service within the required delivery timeframe.
  • Obtaining key technical specifications for goods and services from the engineer / artisans to ensure correctly specified goods are ordered.
  • Negotiating payment terms with suppliers.
  • Verifying if delivery schedules meet project deadlines.
  • Identifying prospective suppliers using business directories, leads from existing contacts, or trade show or conference attendance.
  • Optimising and ensuring adherence to purchasing processes and controls.
  • Maintaining optimal stock levels and source high-quality products.
  • Handling various administrative tasks, including requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, and issuing them on the financial system, as well as adhering
    to all administrative policies and procedures.

Responsibilities on an ad-hoc basis

  • Managing inventory control, including receipts and monthly inventory counting.
  • Ensuring inventory items availability, organisation, and presentation within the store.
  • Overseeing the ordering, receipt, issuing, and monthly counting of assets not in use, keeping records of assets under repair and ensuring
    adherence to procurement and repair policies.
  • Managing the ordering, receipt, issuing of miscellaneous items, adhering to all relevant procurement procedures.
  • Overseeing the receipt and issuing of tools, ensuring adherence to established procedures regarding tool use.
  • Identifying potential risks and implementing measures to mitigate them, including monitoring store access to safeguard store success.
  • Implementing and adhering to good housekeeping procedures, fostering a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Managing housekeeping and control of various assigned areas.

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate (or NQF 4 Equivalent)
  • Experience in technical spare parts and machinery procurement will serve as an advantage
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Administrative experience, with Syspro experience being a benefit
  • Relevant industry experience (beneficial)
  • Full professional fluency in both Afrikaans and English
  • Valid driver’s license

RETAIL ADMINISTRATION

The incumbent will be trained in the following:

Requirements:
