This is a Senior Supervisor position responsible for the technical implementation of the electrical works of a Hybrid renewable energy project, with specific focus on the electrical aspects (solar PV and BESS, including associated works). It includes, site consultations, site inspections and audits, preliminary electrical engineering design reviews and progress measurement against contractual schedules. This position will interact with the EPC team on a continuous basis.
Key responsibilities:

Activities
Contractor Management:
• Onboard new contractors
• Assist contractors in completing, submitting Safety files and follow up
• Assist and prepare contractors for ICC (Inspection of conformity of contractors) audits
• Schedule ICC inspections where applicable at the required intervals
• Follow up on contractor action plan
• Attend at least 1 ICC audit per annum
• Compile monthly KPI`s on Safety files
Incident Investigation
• Conduct accident and incident investigations by leading the root-cause analysis (all level 3>) and provide recommendations for the prevention for corrective and preventive measures – report all incidents on RAMSES
• Prepare investigation report
• Prepare a safety alert, submit for approval, and update the Rex tracker for your allocated depots.
• Validate the effectiveness of closure of all recommendations.
• Prepare information for the monthly COREX meeting.
• Conduct trend analysis and generate performance reports on event reporting (Events, Stop Cards, Anomaly and Near misses)
Action plan Management
• Create and upload into SharePoint action plans from inspections, audit, and surveys/studies for your respective sites.
• Ensure that the actions are allocated to the correct responsible person.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the closures.
• Prepare a KPI to monitor the progress on closure for respective sites.
• Escalate long outstanding items.
• Provide data for the HSEQ Steercom.
Non-Conformance
• Maintain and update non-conformances /events on SharePoint.
• Upload non- conformances and events on Ramses.
• Verify quality of evidence packs uploaded on SharePoint.
• Submit monthly KPI`s timeously to the sites under your responsibility.
• Track age analysis and escalate long outstanding items.
Emergency Preparedness
• Prepare the Crisis Room as prescribed in the CR-PROC-HSEQ- TGAS-009- Procedure for Crisis Management.
• Execute your responsibilities for Head Office emergency preparedness as per the appointment letter.
Other HSEQ Responsibility:
• Assist with the Development , maintainance, and continuously improve TotalGaz Southern Africa HSEQ Management systems (ONE MAESTRO & MAESTRO Log) and contribute to the setting up and maintenance of a strong HSEQ culture within the company.
• Assist with implementation and sustainability of systems such as One Maestro,.
• Accurate compilation of Monthly Safety report, as well as logging of events on RAMSES – with proper follow ups to ensure that the highest possible (i.e. >80%) close-out rate is maintained when required.
• Monitor the HSE KPI Tracker and report in various platforms – (Safety meetings, HSE Business review, etc.)
• Conduct presentations on areas of responsibility during Monthly HSEQ.
• Assist with planning and scheduling of HSEQ related training for Head Office and Depot staff when required.
• Assist in servicing of Head Office emergency equipment
• Assist in arranging for calibrations for depots (Gas detectors and breathalyzers)
• Assist in maintaining the stock on safety signage, order, and issue signage as and when required
• Provide daily input to Perfect Day to Marketing Officer.
Context & Environment
• The incumbent reports to the HSEQ Manager of Totalgaz Southern Africa
The main areas of responsibility include:
• Ensuring contractor compliance with the OHS-Act , No 85 of 1993 and TotalGaz Safety file requirements.
• Ensuring contractor compliance to the ICC requirements.
• Being a change agent for improving the compliance of contractors by assisting contractors with their safety file submission and preparing contractors for ICC audits.
• Providing advice and guidance on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) matters, to ensure that the contractors comply with TotalGaz requirements.
• Emergency Response Co-ordination and assisting with TotalGaz Corporate Emergency Response arrangements (CMC)
