1. Safety, Health & Environmet
•    Remains up-to-date with Safety procedures
•    Plans for safety events and campaigns
•    Takes SHE into account in the planning of work output
•    Implement the Komatsu Way 5Ss – sorting, organising, cleaning, ordering and training
•    Adheres to SHE policies and procedures

2. Machine Inspections

•    Opens and maintains component history file for each component at a customer site
•    Conducts delivery inspection of components
•    Liaises with customer on results of inspection, hands over warranties, signs relevant documentation and registers customer on Komtrax
•    Hands documents to relevant departments (Komtrax), warranty for processing & filing
•    Carries out components and undercarriage inspections at set frequencies as agreed with the customer
•    Recommends and installs upgrades i.e. Factory campaigns
•    Verifies and checks documentation – warranties, manuals, registration forms, etc. and hands these to customer
•    Discusses the inspection report with the customer, with specific reference to deviations and impact
•    Files copies of warranty documents

3. Service & Repairs
•    Plans and prepares for anticipated service calls in conjunction with stakeholders (including RAMP contracts)
•    Plans for the modification of equipment
•    Oversees warranty repairs that may be required at the site
•    Provides technical advice & liaison with centralised Komatsu functions in the Service and Repairs of machines
•    Drives after-market parts sales and service through effective technical advice
•    Discusses the reports with the customer and agrees action plans to rectify problems as highlighted to optimise parts & service sales
•    Commissions warranty & new components
•    Oversees the mini- and major conmponents overhauls
•    Continuously monitors and follows-up on the status of machine down situations
•    Monitors modifications for quality and operational issues
•    Monitors parts availability (stock levels) for repairs and services (stock cover)
•    Stays abreast of progress of component overhaul and provides feedback to customer
•    Submits machine down notice (MDN) as and when required to Parts Department

•    Completes documentation after the installation and commissioning of any REMAN component fitted to the equipment and files a copy in the machine history file

3. Technical Product Reperting & Advice
•    Plans for time to complete reporting 
•     Collates information, downloads, inspections, PM clinic & troubleshooting for use in reporting as stipulated below
•    Generates quotes for defects & repairs on equipment
•    Logs issues, problems and updates files to be used in feedback
•    Arranges/conducts basic technical training with the customer and Komatsu Field Servicemen
•    Completes Field Campaigns issued by the factories as per  plan
•    Compiles recommendations report to the Parts/Branch/Depot Manager for additional components, to meet the component change requirements
•    Monitors the Komatsu machine hours in conjunction with the component hours
•    Compiles and utilises reports to improve parts and service sales to the customer
•    Discusses significant deviations or issues with customer and KLTD for proactive strategies to rectify problems
•    Monitors MDN (Machine Down Notifications) and follows-up progress
•    Monitors REMAN components and establishes ETA’s
•    Submits Technical Service Information (TSI) for any issue/information which involves a machine where information is to be shared with the Product Support Division or OEM factory. This includes all warranty issues or other technical components information 
•    Completes monthly components statistics relating to componets down hours, componets availability with detailed explanation and submitted to Operations management and copied to Product Support Division. 
•    Carries out KomtraxPlus and PLM downloads and uploads at set frequencies
•    Drives maintenance initiatives and makes recommendations to improve components availabilities
•    Assists customer with compilation of maintenance reports which are to be utilised by the customer when maintaining the equipment
•    Updates customer components population (customer name, working site, scrap status) and sends to Product Support Division
•    Responsible for transferring all components records to new sites and confirming with recipient 
•    Completes and sends Field Campaign reports to Product Support Division & submits warranty claims to the National Warranty function within the designated time frame
4. Drives Afert-Market Parts & Servisec through Advice
•    Conducts research on products that will enhance the customers’ equipment / or per customers’ request
•    Installs and commissions the after-market parts
•    Conducts a benchmark exercise on cost saving drives
•    Liaises with supplier on AMS downloads and forwards to customer
5. Controls Warrantgy Claims
•    Plans warranty claims procedure
•    Prepares warranty documents and liaises with warranties department
•    Commissions the new components
•    Follows-up that warranties have been approved
