JUNIOR AGRICULTURAL ECONOMIST

What you need to succeed:
▪ A B.Sc. Agric degree with Agricultural Economics as a major.
▪ 1-2 years of relevant experience in agricultural economic consulting.
▪ Strong knowledge of different farming sectors and industry trends.
▪ Proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling.
▪ Excellent computer literacy and a knack for working with agricultural software.
▪ A valid driver’s license to visit with clients in different locations.

PROJECT LEADER

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Purpose of the position:
The incumbent is responsible for the effective management, development and
maintenance of NWK’s technology applications.

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Effective planning to ensure the timeous availability of data and information
  • High quality service delivery to system users
  • Leading numerous projects
  • Determining output capacity of projects required to meet changing customer
    demands
  • Creation of timely system software in either Natural / Adabas or the PHP
    environment

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • At least eight (8) years of relevant technology experience in system development
    and maintenance
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is preferable
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English

Purpose of the position:
The candidate will oversee the completion of clerical and administrative
tasks at the retail outlet.

The responsibility of the position will include the following:

  • Inventory control, which includes orders, receipts, shipments,
    transfers, price marking and inventory counting;
  • Customer service, which may include compiling quotes, special
    orders, handling product enquiries, etc.
  • Part-time terminal sales;
  • Administrative tasks that are normally required to operate a successful
    retail business

Minimum requirements:

  • The suitable candidate must be in possession of a Grade 12
    certificate
  • The candidate must have at least two to three (2-3) years’ relevant
    experience in a retail environment
  • The candidate must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English.

BRANCH MANAGER: MECHANISATION

MECHANISATION KROONSTAD

Purpose of the position:
The incumbent will be responsible for the profitable and effective management of the
mechanisation branch/operating point.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Inventory control by taking responsibility for all aspects regarding inventory and
    ensuring that the best practices, procedures and systems are correctly applied and
    maintained by relevant personnel;
  • Promoting customer service by creating a customer-focused culture and setting high
    standards for customer service through empowering, managing and leading staff;
  • Financial management of the operating point which will include the management of all
    aspects of the budget and assets of the operating point;
  • Management of personnel according to NWK policies, guidelines and procedures and
    ensuring that the NWK values are portrayed inside and outside the business
    environment.

Minimum requirements:

  • The suitable candidate must have a Grade 12 certificate
  • At least (5) five years of relevant experience in an agricultural mechanisation
    environment that involves exposure to workshop activities and thorough knowledge of
    agricultural equipment
  • Must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English

BOONS SILO

Purpose of the position:
The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the relevant silo.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the intake and dispatch of all grain, which could include the drying of
    grain;
  • Stock control of operating stock and equipment;
  • Managing, controlling and training of personnel;
  • Managing and controlling storage facilities, which includes the optimal utilisation
    thereof;
  • Thorough control of administrative functions;
  • Operating a computerised mainframe administrative system; and
  • Execution of instructions and policies regarding the following:
  • Occupational safety

  • Internal control systems; and

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Five (5) years’ relevant experience
  • Candidates must have completed courses in the following:
  • Maize, wheat and sunflower grading

  • Fumigation
  • A valid driver’s license.

FLOOR MANAGER

RETAIL VRYBURG

Purpose of the position:
This individual will be responsible for managing the operational requirements
regarding inventory control in the agricultural department.

The responsibilities of the position will include the following:

  • Inventory control which includes orders, receipts, shipments, transfers, price
    marking and inventory counting;
  • Customer service, which may include compiling quotes, special orders,
    handling product enquiries, assisting with credit arrangements and giving
    personal attention to customers to meet their needs;
  • Liaising with product managers and representatives;
  • Assisting with the layout of the store / warehouse / department;
  • Personnel management.

Minimum requirements:

  • The suitable candidate must be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate
  • The candidate must have at least three (3) years of relevant experience in
    the industry.
  • The candidate must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
  • In possession of a valid driver’s license.

Purpose of the position:

  • Assistance with stock takings
  • Administrative tasks that are normally required to operate a
    successful retail business

Minimum requirements:

  • The suitable candidate must be in possession of a senior certificate
  • At least one (1) year relevant experience
  • The candidate must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English

Skills:

Purpose of the position:
