ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The General Worker will be supporting the Maintenance Team by providing effective equipment maintenance assistance, welding related and fitting or electrical assistance and reliability, while adhering to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of equipment. The Directional Drilling General Worker will be supporting the Directional Drilling Team by providing effective Directional Drilling assistance while adhering to procedures/codes, procedures and also to increase the Directional Drilling sustainability.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
- Responsible for welding of Mining equipment using flux core method and other welding processes.
- Responsible for safe operation of welding equipment
- Cut material and pre-heat using oxy-fuel gas cutting equipment while complying to the gas safety rules.
- Assist with operation of overhead crane and lifting equipment according to safe working procedures.
- Complete job specific task and checklist accurately.
- Visual inspection of working environment ensuring safety standards are adhered to and reporting any unsafe conditions to Superior.
- Application of job specific SOP’s and COP’s to ensure housekeeping standards are upheld.
- Function efficiently and effectively as part of a team to work towards achieving Team Goals.
- Report all task activities.
- Hazard identification/task risk assessments.

Purpose of Job
Process engineering support for Site Logistics and Tank Farm areas as well as MPI (Market and Process Integration) to protect and improve production volumes, ensure quality and efficiency performance targets are met, support plant asset health and enable plant sustainability with regards to environmental compliance through monitoring, troubleshooting and development of improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
Support the Engineering Lead Process by providing the following main deliverables:
Define OWAP an optimum operating window in which equipment on Tank Farm should operate. Monitor and improve plant performance with respect to availability, quality and efficiency. Translate loss accounting into improvement plans. Proactively identify and resolve technical issues on equipment and unit operations. Ensure process integrity of equipment, inspections and recommendations of improvement opportunities during shutdowns. Support shutdowns with respect to value chain integration, idea generation and process equipment integrity. Monitor adherence to and effectiveness of Volume Protection Plan (VPP). Analyze effectiveness of data provided for production planning and scheduling purposes. Technical inputs to VPP and identify risk of deviation Monitor and interpret performance on technical drivers, constraints and levers on value chain level taking upstream ad downstream units into account.
Ensure that process engineering fundamental tools are in place and relevant. Support MPI with tools to optimize and manage Sasolburg operations value chains and utilities distribution. Work independently but know when to seek help. Support the technical track delivery and provide process related inputs on small to medium projects (Tier 3-5), in accordance with sound established engineering principles and standards to satisfy business requirements. Interface with operations teams, R&T, SO Engineering Services, operations support teams, Business Development, Project Management, licensors, Reliability Engineering, Group Technology and others to advance business goals. Carry initiated modifications through the design, implementation and commissioning phases to beneficial operation within business specific schedules and cost. Compliance with internal guidelines and policies e.g. MOC Processes. Involvement/leading of incident investigations, root cause analysis and process engineering design reviews in support of the rest of the technical team and operations. Purpose of Job
To administer the implementation of activities in specified environmental programmes and to contribute to the improvement of environmental practices to facilitate compliance with environmental regulations and company specifications.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
An operator in production provides support in the operation of machines for a specific mine/section/plant within the Sasol Mining environment, to achieve production requirements in a safe manner.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS (Critical tasks)
- Ensure machine is constantly in a safe operable condition (completion of pre-check list)
- Demonstrate skill in the operation of machine
- Execution of daily tasks as per instructions and/or planned schedule
- Identification of any abnormal conditions and reporting thereof
High Level competencies
- Operate 1 mining production machine
- Applying relevant knowledge and skills of machines, tools and equipment to adhere to standards and production targets.
- Visual inspection of working environment ensuring safety standards are adhered to and reporting any unsafe conditions.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and ensure working areas and machinery are clean and in good condition.
- Function efficiently and effectively as part of a team to work towards achieving team goals.
- Sensitive on how your actions affect the cost of your team, identify and act on cost saving initiatives.

Qualifications and experience:
- Grade 12/N3 (or equivalent) with Roof Bolter(RB) or Shuttle Car (SC) or Face Drill (FD) or Load Haul Dump (LHD) or Tractor or Continuous (CM) valid licenses
- Competent B Certificate (applicable to Roofbolters)
- Gas testing (5 gases)
- Able to pass medical and have a clear security clearance.

Purpose of Job
To assist in planning and scheduling maintenance activities and monitoring adherence to plans to reduce asset downtime.
Key Accountabilities
Carry out engineering planning activities for specific sections/ departments that optimise sweating of assets ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and reduce total cost of ownership.
Ensure work management process schedule adherence.
Adherence to Predictive maintenance program plan vs. actual per department.
Ensures that engineering planning activities are achieved in the most cost effective manner possible.
Department operating within budget (Budget / Actual).
Trains and coaches fellow employees and learners.
Report on progress, corrective action, make information available in format as agreed by the planning department to the business units engineering personnel Monthly maintenance planning aviation reports.

ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This Maintenance Operator will be supporting the Maintenance Team by providing effective
equipment maintenance assistance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, to increase stability and
maintain sustainability of equipment.
