Reporting to the Financial Manager, the ideal candidate would assist in the entire financial process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, as well as providing support in evaluating current processes and recommending improvements that align to the company policies and audit requirements. The role requires not only financial capability but the ability to think operationally as well. 

Responsibilities

  • Fixed Asset accounting and reporting monthly.
  • Month-end close activities to ensure accurate processing and financial records comply with company policies and accounting principles. 
  • Monthly compilation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Exception reports generated for expenses with significant deviations from budget and forecasts set.
  • Timeous completion of group reporting requirements.
  • Assistance with the preparation of budgets and updating forecasts for portfolio expenses.
  • Checking, authorizing and releasing payments across all banking platforms.
  • Liaise with internal and external audit on audit requirements.
  • Facilitate monthly Interco processing of charges and charge outs.
  • Vat reconciliations of foreign entities. 
  • Ad hoc activities and projects as the need arise.

Qualifications

  • Accounting degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant 
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically on Microsoft Excel
  • DAX D365
  • ERP Systems

Management Accountant Mr Price

Job Description

Mr Price is looking for a newly qualified CA (SA) to join our Finance team. If you are energetic, thrive under pressure and have excellent attention to detail, this role could be for you! 

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include budgeting, setting annual budgets for head office & stores and review monthly performance and update the forecasts accordingly, monitoring stores performance against budget ,updating financial forecasts, preparing financial analysis, prepare management accounts, prepare period end statutory packs, Liaise with orations on all financial matters, Analyse capex spend, review the price matrix for all corporate and all stores in order to make the forecasted profit margin. IFRS 16 reconciliations , forex exposure forecasting, process efficiencies & optimization, understand feasibility studies for new stores and Other adhoc activities.

Commercial Manager Mr Price Money

Job Description

Manage the profitability of the credit and insurance vertices within Mr Price Money  by leveraging a combination of data and market trends to drive the implementation of commercial projects and tactical business solutions  to support this growth.                                                                                                                                                                 

Responsibilities

Strategy Execution:

  • Execute the Credit and Insurance strategy, focussing on: – 
  • Monitoring performance of existing base and responding appropriately in collabration with Marketing and BI Teams
  • Monitoring performance of new customers working closely with the operations team to respond to shifts by channel 
  • Collaborate with the Insurance Commercial BP to monitor performance and profitability of products and respond effectively 

Business intelligence :

  • Leverage expert knowledge to determine where profit opportunities exist and can be optimised within the Financial Services potfolio
  • Leverage skill to manage IFRS 9 modelling in collaboration with the Finance Team 
  • Engage and network with cross-divisional stakeholders to keep abreast of group developments, opportunities and risks.
  • Challenge business areas where risks are identified and/or desired business outcomes do not appear achievable.

Technology Support:

  • Keeping abreast of latest technology to support the business strategy KPI’s.
  • Key component is the current migration from CDS to Financier – key dependency on being involved in the project to ensure all products are delivered on, legistlative/compliance issues considered and a scalable solution implemented to assist in delivering relevant products accross the relevant customer segments. 

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Collboration is key to achieve divisional targets with the ability to cross collaborate accross Finance, Marketing, BI and Risk. 
  • Work closely with the Commercial BP’s to support career journey

            Stakeholder Management

  •  Management of key stakeholder relationships to ensure that our relationships are being leveraged to achieve business imperatives.
  • Cross collaboration across divisional business units are crticial to the succes of the role.       

            Commercial Modelling 

  • Close collaboration with the BI Team and Finance team to build commercial  models/forecasts for new product development.
  • Consideration around relevant of product to a customer segment, supported by channel of deployment to ensure we meet the overall forecasts for the credit and insurance businesses. 

Qualifications

  1. Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Regulatory certifications (e.g., RE5 and RE1) preferred but not mandatory candidates should demonstrate an ability to manage compliance requirements.
  • A strong commercial and analytical background is essential.
  1. Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business intelligence, financial services, insurance, or related industries, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in profitability management, business intelligence, or commercial strategy execution.
  • Experience in customer segmentation, credit risk, pricing strategy, or product development within financial services is highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level decision-making and drive business outcomes through strategic insights.
  • Track record of owning and delivering revenue and profitability targets, with an ability to translate data into actionable business strategies.
  • Exposure to digital transformation projects, financial modelling, and technology-driven business solutions.
  • Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and working collaboratively across departments.
  • Business development experience is a plus but not essential.
  1. Knowledge/ Skills:
  • Strong commercial acumen, with expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and business profitability analysis.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, customer data, and competitive intelligence to optimize credit and insurance portfolios.

Finance Administrator (Rentals) Talentpool

Job Description

We are often looking for contractors to assist our Real Estate team with finance. These contracts are normally 3 months long only.

This is a talentpool advert – meaning that this is not an active current vacancy but a place where you can apply to be considered for this role in the future when it arises. 

Responsibilities

  1. Capturing & Payments:
  • Capture local and foreign rental supplier’s expenses on purchase order system (DAX) against correct cost centre/supplier.
  • Ensure all EFT’s are done timeously.
  • Calculate turnover rental due.                        
  1. Reporting & Recon:
  • Prepare a Variance to Last Month report on a monthly basis and send to Commercial Manager for review.
  • Maintain electricity consumption reports and BEE certificates.
  • Prepare and ensure turnover certificates are sent to landlords annually. Update and send turnover sales to landlords monthly.
  • Perform a recon against the supplier statement and if variances found, follow up. Monitor rentals against the lease management database.                    

Qualifications

  • A finance-based qualification 
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office suite (MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Matric
  • 2-3 Years creditors experience

Stock Controller Talent Pool

Job Description

This is a Talent Pool advert for Stock Control contractors for the Mr Price Group. Our stock control contracts are normally 3 months in length. If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted when suitable roles arise. The purpose of this role is to ensure stock information for the divisions is up to date and all queries are resolved timeously.

Responsibilities

•       Provide support and advice to Operations / Distribution Centre / Courier companies regarding the stock policies and procedures, queries, and claims

•       Monitor transfers In-transit and manage the age analysis of stock in-transit

•       Resolve and analyze transfer queries and claims between stores, Distribution Centre and Courier companies

•       Stock Take Preparation – assist in the preparation of stores for stock-takes

•       Ensure all stock take data is updated and processed

•       Ensure stock administration and Stock Take Variance Reports are complete and valid for month-end

•       Review stock variances and monitor shrinkage results

•       Follow up of claims submitted to Courier companies

•       Assist team with adhoc tasks

Qualifications

•       Finance related diploma or degree

•       2+ year’s  Stock Control experience 

•       Computer literate (MS Office and Outlook)

•       Excellent oral and written communication skills

Creditors (FTC) Talent Pool

Job Description

This 3 month contract role is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all sundry creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.  A reminder that this is a talent pool vacancy, meaning that we will only contact you when this vacancy arises.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

Responsibilities

  1. Invoices.
  • Process invoices and purchase orders.
  • Match and batch invoices and delivery notes.
  • Follow up on payment of invoices due, by sending bill reminders and contacting clients to ensure that no invoices are long outstanding.

        2. Payments.                        

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in order to follow up where payments are missed.
  • Prepare sundry creditors payments and ensure suppliers are paid timeously to avoid penalties of missed payments.
  1. BEE Certificates.
  • Follow-up on BEE certificates for each service provider to ensure compliance and documentation is available on DAX.

         4. Reconciliations.           

  • Reconcile the accounts receivables ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Prepare reconciliations of amounts owed to each sundry vendor (per the statement received) against the amount owed per DAX to ensure consistency between the two.
  1. Data Capturing.
  • Maintain the sundry creditors data base including capturing of new suppliers in DAX.

Qualifications

  1. Education:
  • Grade 12.
  • Qualification in Finance (preferred) 
  1. Experience:
  • 2-3 Years ‘creditors experience 
  • Strong MS Excel experience 
  1. Knowledge:
