To control the chemical dosing by operating as per plant standard procedure ensuring the continuous supply of chemicals to all systems, thus maintaining water quality with specifications.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 / N3 certificate in Water and Waste Water Treatment
National Diploma in Water Care or equivalent will serve as an advantage
Eligible to be a class IV Process Controller
Atleast 2 years’ experience in water purification
Valid drivers license and the ability to pass RW K53 test
Primary Duties
Control of raw flow into system
Lime slaking – Putting slakers into operation as per operating procedure
Lime dosing
Silica dosing
Ferric chloride – operate ferric chloride plant when requested
Managing of plant by reporting of defective plant and equipment
Changing over of standby pumps and dosing equipment weekly
Ensure plant cleaning of systems and flocculation is done
Adhere to occupational health and safety
Operate alrernative poly electrolyte dosing plant when requested
Reporting of unsafe conditions which may result in injury or harm to Rand Water employees
Report all chemical spills to WP supervisor
Receipt of chemical deliveries as per standard procedure
SCADA operations
Knowledge
Good knowledge of slaker, ferric chloride, polymer dosing plants and Lime dosing

Primary Duties
