Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and driven GES Underground-TMM, at Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To provide specialised technical support and expertise for the Engineering function underground in trackless mobile machinery. To assist with modifications, projects, studies, and plans to meet business objectives.

Job description

•    Perform asset care activities as required to EAMS system including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders.
•    Manage inspection checklists for tools, equipment and work areas. Report problems and make recommendations to Engineer.
•    Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
•    Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure. 
•    Comply with safety, health and environmental standards.
•    Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
•    Contribute to team performance.
•    Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
•    Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
•    Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standard.
•    Oversee the schedule for planned maintenance.
•    Ensure maintenance and operational management of plant and machinery.
•    Oversee the coordination of orders with regards to any breakdowns or maintenance reported and processed.
•    Participate and manage mine projects with regards to Engineering. Ensure projects are executed within budget and time frames.

Minimum requirements

•    Grade 12.
•    Trade Certificate Artisan: Diesel Mechanic / Auto electrician. / Hydraulic Fitter
•    Certificate N5 Engineering Studies.
•    Certificate: Advanced Management (Advantageous).
•    Valid Code B/EB Drivers License.

•    3 Years Post Apprenticeship Experience as an Artisan in Heavy Industrial, Mining Environment with Trackless Mobile Machinery.
•    3 Years Supervisory / Foreman Experience in TMM maintenance.
•    Experience in the maintenance and operation of BEVs (advantageous).

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and driven Fitter, at Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To prepare, maintain and operate production equipment. Maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems and equipment.

Job description

Perform asset care activities as required to EAMS system, including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders.
Obtain information, check for accuracy, and capture data. File documents per procedure.
Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
Conduct risk assessment in one’s own area of work and within the span of control.
Comply with safety, health, and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in the work area. Participate in safety meetings.

Contribute to team performance.
Complete daily inspection checklists for tools, equipment, and work areas. Report problems and make recommendations to Supervisors.
Conduct fitting work which supports maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations of mechanical equipment per work orders and breakdown work orders. Consider direct environment risks.
Maintain workshop area, equipment, tools, and toolbox. Perform instructions as per work orders and job cards.
Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
Participate in the planning process for the section. Execute plans within the standard.

Comply with work rules, standards, and methods. Take care to minimise waste. Provide feedback on optimisation opportunities.

Maintain active and informative relations with all team members and colleagues, and take remedial actions where necessary.

Complete Individual Development Plan. Attend learning and development courses. Participate in peer and team learning initiatives.

Miner Relieving

Introduction

Supervise a work team in executing all work required to extract ore from a specific work area safely, economically and productively.

Job description

•    Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and safety of others. Ensure area of work has been declared safe before any work commence.

•    Conduct entry examination and declare area safe of the workplace, cleaning of faces, support marking, support installation, Face Marking, Face drilling and charging up of faces with explosive. 
•    Complete safe declaration for every working area.
•    Instruct and supervise Support Worker Roof and Face Prep to perform barring operation in preparing the face and to make safe.  
•    Verify explosives and accessories received from magazine to ensure accurate accounting of explosives.  Transport in accordance with safety standards to dedicated Primer Bays.
•    Prepare primers in dedicated Primer Bays according to blasting requirements.  
•    Conduct general housekeeping.
•    Supervisor to achieve daily production plan.     
•    Report and rectify any deviations identified in own area.
•    Record non-conformances and actions required.
•    Escalate problems to the Shift Boss and/or Production Control.
•    Ensure section is clear by conducting an inspection of the area and instruct employees / contractors to vacate the area.  
•    At end of shift, compile shift report (using standard template) including no blast situations

Minimum requirements

•    Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
•    Blasting certificate / MQA Rock Breaking Certificate (issued 1 Jul 2009 – 31 May 2017) (Required)
•    Driver’s license: Code B/EB (Required)
