PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To oversee production at an operational/tactical management level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Physical Science) or NQF 4 equivalent is essential
- Blasting Certificate is essential
- Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency is essential
- Mining Engineering Diploma/Degree is desirable
- 5 years Shift Supervisor experience on a supervisory level is essential
- 3 – 5 years working experience as an appointed Mine Overseer is desirable
COMPETENCIES:
- General management skills
- Understanding of COP’s and standards of Implats
- Safety procedures and programs
- Systematic supervision
- Basic financial knowledge
- Business plans
- Employee Relations (ER/IR)
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Effectively ensures that mining production targets (volumes) are achieved.
- Ensures optimum production of a good quality is achieved, safely and cost-effectively.
- Ensures people management best practices are adhered to (directly manages shift supervisors, who manage miners).

- Plans short term and long-term strategic objectives.
- Sets financial budget.

- Ensured agreements are adhered to and direct implementation of agreed policy.
- Emphasised the importance of reaching a work objective and motivating individuals.
- Evaluates the work of others on completion.
- Ensures effective co-ordination of activities.
- Checks work completion to a set standard.
- Evaluates written reports on department.
- Maintains and handles disciplinary problems firmly.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To install, maintain and repair telecommunications networks and equipment on Impala operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/STD 10 (with Mathematics and Science) / NQF Level 4 is essential.
- Proof of Training as Telkom Technician/Technical Officer is essential
- Valid Drivers License is essential
- IT A+ and N+ Qualification is essential
- 8-10 years working experience in Telecommunication is essential
- Certified fibre Technician with at least 5-10 years experience on fibre cables OR trained and 5-10 years experience on Siemens HiPath 4000 equipment is essential
COMPETENCIES:
- COP procedure
- Safety procedure
- Knowledge of Basic Telecommunication and Construction.
- Proven ability to plan and organise
- Computer literacy (MS Office package)
- Perform basic first aid
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Checks or signs all final worksheets for admin office.
- Adheres to safety practices, procedures and good housekeeping as laid down by Management.
- Observes weekly planned tasks on critical operational areas.
- Works overtime and standby when required.
- Installs, terminates and maintains all telecommunication cabling infrastructure on copper and fibre cables.
- Does fault finding and locating with test equipment on fibre and copper cables.
- Attends to call outs and breakdowns on cable infrastructure, power backup and telecommunication equipment accurately and as quickly as possible.
- Always maintains good housekeeping in all telecommunication exchange/workshop areas and reports faulty access control systems and air-conditioner systems in exchanges.
- Provides the best possible telecommunication service to all our customers (internal and external).
