Job Description:

En Anglo American nos encontramos en búsqueda de 2 Especialistas de Ingeniería:

  • 1 vacante de la disciplina civil/estructural (CSA)
  • 1 vacante de la disciplina electricidad/instrumentación

RESPONSABILIDADES:

Apoyar a la Gerencia de Ingeniería y por consiguiente a los superintendentes de estudio y de ejecución, en el soporte técnico de su disciplina, en las diferentes fases de Estudio y de Ejecución de los proyectos que se desarrollen bajo la tutela de la Vicepresidencia de Proyectos, para todos los portafolios.

Responsable de la ingeniería de su disciplina, frente al gerente de ingeniería.

  • Provee su nivel experto en la disciplina de ingeniería a nivel de proyectos
  • Revisa L1 de paquetes de ingeniería.

FUNCIONES PRINCIPALES:

  • Soportar la gestión del desarrollo de proyectos en las fases de Estudios y Ejecución.
  • Soportar la elaboración del proyecto desde el punto de vista de ingeniería, constructibilidad, operación y estándares vigentes y corporativos, en materias de su disciplina
  • Soportar la elaboración de la Ingeniería para los diferentes proyectos y operaciones, asegurándose del cumplimiento de los requisitos y desafíos que presente la vicepresidencia de ingeniería.
  • Relacionarse con los pares de AA, IoT, contratistas, asesores, consultores y auditores para el desarrollo del proyecto.
  • Identificar y reportar oportunamente potenciales problemas de ingeniería; luego recomendar soluciones a la gerencia de ingeniería.
  • Asegurar que la entrega de la documentación generada por los contratistas de ingeniería sea la requerida según el alcance y etapa de ingeniería asociada.
  • Preparar reportes y/o presentaciones acerca del estatus de los proyectos y también acerca de los potenciales problemas y soluciones identificadas, de acuerdo a lo indicado por la jefatura inmediata

  • Conocer y aplicar los valores, principios y la Política SHE de Anglo American Quellaveco y contribuir a su visión de cero daños.
  • Cumplir y hacer cumplir los requisitos legales y otros compromisos asumidos por Anglo American Quellaveco, los estándares, procedimientos y reglamentos internos del Sistema de Gestión; así como las reuniones de capacitación, concientización y formación de la cultura de Cero Daños.
  • Asegurar que las medidas de control para los peligros y riesgos de SHE identificados, se encuentren implementadas en el lugar de trabajo, para el desarrollo de una labor segura.
  • Reportar oportunamente los actos y condiciones inseguras; así como los Incidentes.
  • Asegurar la mejora continua en la Gestión de Seguridad, Salud Ocupacional y Medio Ambiente.

Qualifications:

FORMACIÓN Y CERTIFICACIONES

  • Profesional en Ingeniería Civil con especialidad Estructural (CSA) y/o especialidad en electricidad con conocimientos de instrumentación con experiencia demostrable en el área de manejo de relaves.
  • Deseable: Maestrías, postgrados o certificaciones relacionadas a dirección e implementación de proyectos PMI y estándares corporativos en ingeniería, minería, construcción y gobernanza. Maestrías en la carrera técnica requerida.
  • Habilitado como Ingeniero.
  • Inglés a nivel intermedio (mínimo requerido)
  • Licencia de conducir AI (deseable)

EXPERIENCIA

  • Mínimo 15 años de experiencia en diseños de ingeniería para proyectos de mediana y gran envergadura en las áreas de minería y/o petróleo y/o gas, incluyendo participación en procesos de gobernanza dentro de empresas transnacionales. 
  • Al menos 10 años de experiencia participando en todas las etapas de ejecución de proyectos de mediana y gran envergadura, en empresas dedicadas al rubro de ingeniería en minería.
  • Experiencia en el desarrollo de ingeniería de proyectos mineros, con capital de inversión de al menos entre MUSD200 a MUSD300 (TIC).
  • Solvencia técnica en su disciplina y en proyectos de manejo de relaves e infraestructura relacionada, así como conocimiento y experiencia en desarrollo proyectos de ingeniería multidisciplinarios

    • Ensure electric cables and mast poles are positioned correctly for shovel power supply.
    • Conduct site safety inspections and issue safety declarations.
  • Loading Process
    • Monitor the loading process continuously during the shift.
    • Report abnormal conditions, production deviations, and high-risk situations.
    • Load trucks according to required tempo, standards, and weekly production schedules.
    • Adhere to design parameters and production schedules.
  • Equipment Care and Utilisation
    • Keep equipment tidy and functional at all times.
    • Perform cleaning activities beyond allocated areas when required.
    • Ensure routine maintenance and inspections are carried out to prevent breakdowns.
    • Optimise equipment schedules to match operational demands.
    • Facilitate proper shift handovers to minimise downtime.
    • Enhance utilisation of equipment for optimal efficiency.
  • Assistance and Engagement
    • Assist the supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person.
    • Escalate potential risks and operational challenges to the supervisor.

Job Description:

Manage the Global solutions and oversee activities relating to the organization’s business optimization efforts by strategically deploying and managing Business Analytics and Project Management resources across priority global, regional and service line-based improvement projects. The role focuses on building strong internal and external business relationships, to be the upholder of global best practices in business optimisation, continuous improvement and business analytics, ensuring implementation and alignment across optimisation and line-based improvement resources, adding value through optimal customer service, and continuous improvement evolvement.

The Solutions Superintendent plays a key role in defining the engagement approach, managing business relationships, overseeing the collection of interpretation of company performance data, and is also accountable for the execution of optimisation initiatives, including conducting research and analysis, generating ideas, process mapping and building solutions.

KEY TASKS

  • Strategic Programme Management: Coordinate and manage routine and proactive diagnostics to identify optimization opportunities within programmes to be systematically submitted into the Business process Optimisation (BPO) funnel process. Identifying broader opportunities to collaborate and share insights across service lines and regions. Identifying and escalating opportunities and business cases for global projects and / or areas where external support may be warranted. Is also accountable for the execution of business analytics initiatives, including conducting research and analysis, generating ideas, process mapping and building solutions. Ensuring appropriate risk management practices are designed and implemented in the Business Analytics lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop a team of optimisation specialists. Manage their deployment on projects in line with their skills, capabilities and development needs. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and value-driven optimization. Conducting Annual Learning Needs process, Annual Talent Identification and Review, Facilitate and measure Performance Management when required.
  • Resource Allocation and Prioritization: Systematically manage deployment of Specialists resources, to ensure capabilities and capacity are effectively deployed in line with Optimisation Roadmap needs. Manage escalations and cross-divisional engagements to resolve challenges and drive initiative success. Drive team productivity and efficiency while ensuring ultimate business value-add and line led sustainability.
  • Manage Stakeholder Requirements through optimal Customer Service:  Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, adding value through optimal customer service . Act as a thought partner to ensure alignment, buy-in, and support for optimization initiatives across the organization.
  • BPO Best Practice: Assist in the definition, codification and continuous improvement of best practices in Business Process Optimisation and Business Analytics. This includes defining standard procedures, artifacts, templates, and systems used in standard BPO activities such as brown paper exercises, value-add analyses, DILO’s, LEAN analysis, etc. Being responsible for keeping these up to date and available for relevant GSSF resources. Supporting the Program and Business Analytics Manager is driving adoption and alignment across Optimisation and line functions.
  • Executes initiatives in line with GSS strategy and direction: Educates business partners on the strategy by effectively communicating the approach, methodology and benefits. Assists internal and external stakeholders with the embedding and management of change in partnering with the GSS Finance Africa Lead and service line leads, manages key relationships with partners to build a strong foundation based on reliable delivery and trust. Ensures successful transition of solutions to the business for on-going maintenance, operational management and continued improvement. Acts as a key partner and conduit between business and IM, Supply Chain, Group Tax etc.

Job Description:

As an Operator Shift Control Roomyou will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Monitor CCTV cameras and initiate appropriate response to suspicious activities.
  • Monitor computerised burglar and fire alarm systems and initiate appropriate responses to alarm activations.
  • Monitor guard patrol monitoring systems and alert shift supervisors on any deviations.
  • Update the computer-based incident logging system and generate the reports.
  • Operate the 24/7 emergency number and initiate appropriate response to emergencies.
  • Operate remote-controlled gate control systems.
  • Operate all radio communication systems.
  • Perform administration duties relating to a control room environment.
  • Send an SMS to SLT or RLT in case of an emergency or incidents in the mine.
  • Capture all incidents and dockets online for record purposes.

This role is in the Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) discipline at a Band S4 level (C1/C2 Grade) reporting to the Security Operations Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12/ N3
  • Completion of a formal Control Room Operators course.
  • Registered as a Security Officer Grade B with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority.
  • Advanced CCTV Surveillance Body Language is preferred
  • Valid SA Drivers Licence

Experience

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in safety/security in a control room setup, preferably in a mining environment.
  • Practical experience in computerised access control, burglar alarm, incident logging, CCTV, and guard monitoring systems.

Metallurgical Specialist

Key Outputs and Accountabilities

Performance & Delivery

  • Support the Ex Met Manager in maximising the value of Extractive Metallurgy services to Anglo American and business partners. 
  • Complete a baseload of detailed technical investigations aligned to the strategic intent of the business operation, at operations, pilot plants and in the laboratory, aimed at delivering a specified value for the business.
  • Perform investigations to optimise or understand a unit operation that is underperforming in the business.
  • Performance of the unit operation is defined under fixed criteria, however the methodologies and procedures employed to understand the performance are flexible and at the discretion of the metallurgical specialist such as
  • specified laboratory procedures assigned to laboratory technologist or metallurgical analyst to be performed or may be performed by the metallurgical specialist in person or 
  • the metallurgical specialist may choose to self-solicit plant samples or request operating data and perform analysis utilising number of tools ranging from excel to mass and energy balance simulation software.
  • Delivers accurate and relevant reports and presentations to support the identification of current and future value adding opportunities. 
  • Supports effectiveness and continuous improvement of the productivity and value contribution within the assigned tasks.
  • The Metallurgical Specialist should be available for ad hoc task assignment requests by the Ex Met Manager to mobilise and support the business remotely or on site at the operation as needed.

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Adherence to all elements of the Anglo American Operational Risk Management (ORM) system and use all associated systems effectively.
  • Adherence to safety standards and procedures. 
  • Lead certain safety initiatives within the department.
  • Participate in monthly inspections and general housekeeping practices.
  • Perform SLAM and adequate completion of the Job Risk Assessment.
  • Attend and participate in safety meetings e.g. green area meeting, toolbox talks etc.
  • Report incidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Take responsibility for developing and updating operating procedures for testwork and projects. 
  • Perform Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) reviews, record gaps and follow-up on actions raised.
  • Conduct oversight inspections (OSI) on systems and changes implemented. 

People & Teams:

  • Contribute as part of the greater multidisciplinary team supporting TS and interacting with Site Services,
  • Mineralogy and Materials Processing, Chemistry, and the Safety Department. 
  • Support the provision of relevant technical information to Technical, corporate functions of business partners and its operations to assist in driving value. 
  • Follow Company and P&O Policies and Procedures

Compliance:

  • Develop and update relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all equipment and procedures developed for testwork. 
  • Conduct the necessary Planned Task Observations (PTOs) to ensure that applicable staff members know how to use the equipment safely, effectively and appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • BSc Chemistry (Honours), Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with relevant hydrometallurgy experience.
  • MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, relevant to precious metal and/or base metal hydrometallurgy or processing – Advantageous

EXPERIENCE

  • Requisite experience/exposure to hydrometallurgical operations through project work, research and development or operational exposure would be considered advantageous.
  • Demonstratable level of independent capability to undertake research and development in the fields of Chemistry, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering considered advantageous. 
  • Prior knowledge of pressure and atmospheric leaching, bioleaching, solution purification and metal recovery/separation technologies as applied across a range of commodities would also be considered as advantageous

Job Description:

As our Shift Supervisor (Mining)of your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Shift Coordination: Prepare and coordinate activities during designated shifts.
  • Quality Control: Maintain quality control measures to ensure that materials fed into the processing plant meet required standards and specifications.
  • Equipment Supervision: Maintain and manage the operation of equipment used in the mining operations area and material transport, ensuring optimal performance and addressing issues promptly.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to relay information, address challenges, and ensure a coordinated workflow.
  • Data Recording: Record and maintain accurate data related to mining operations activities, material quantities, and quality metrics for reporting and analysis.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve operational challenges, technical issues, and discrepancies within mining operations. 
  • Shift Reporting: Prepare comprehensive shift reports detailing activities, accomplishments, challenges, and any incidents or deviations from standard procedures.
  • Process Optimisation: Collaborate with relevant teams to optimise block preparation and material feeding processes, improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Execute the delivery of sustainability activities relevant to the discipline.
  • Comply with environmental and social requirements as relevant to the discipline.
  • Maintain environmental and social risk mitigation techniques.
  • Maintain sustainability initiatives relevant to the work area and progress report.
  • Act consistently with sustainability expectations.

This role is in Mining (MIN) department on a band 7 (C4) level reporting to the Shift Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / N3 Technical
  • Relevant National Qualification on NQF5
  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mining (Advantageous)

  • DMRE-approved Blasting Certificate
  • A2 Safety Training and Legal Liability (Advantageous)

Technical Knowledge

To guide the Learning team to provide effective service delivery and meet the requirements of the Service Level Agreements. The incumbent will assist in delivering a successful Learning function and team for GSS that will ensure that GSS employees are adequately skilled to deliver exceptional employee services to Anglo American BU’s and Functions.

The Learning Administrator position is responsible for administering activities that support and enable the effective delivery of the Learning service line in line with the agreed Service Level Agreement.

KEY TASKS

Learning and Development

  • Learning Management System course maintenance for Facilitator Based Training and Computer Based Training (New course creation, amendments, classroom scheduling etc.).
  • SAP Qualification Maintenance (New qualifications, amendments etc.).
  • Management of Assignment Profiles
  • Processing of course nominations – bulk or individual requests.
  • Verification of course approval.
  • Processing of Participant Registers.
  • Processing of Attendance Registers.
  • Verification of new/renewal of qualifications.
  • Processing of new/renewal of qualifications – bulk or individual.
  • Learning Management System(s) query management and resolution.
  • Learning reporting.
  • Systems & Quality Assurance: participate in scheduled audits to ensure system and process integrity.
  • Course and Qualification creation (On SAP & LMS)

Risk and operational reporting.

  • Actively participate and contribute in the use of Anglo-American Operating Model tools by ensuring compliance with GSS standards.
  • Knowledge transfer to entry-level Learning Administrators to build experience and knowledge to enable service delivery.
  • Close gaps on auditing findings.
  • Investigation and resolution of learning system errors.
  • Investigation and resolution of person/qualification queries.
  • Incident Management: Report, review and mitigating measures put in place and closed out.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving through active peer and team collaboration.

Client Relationships

  • Provide accurate information to support client queries.
  • Respond to requests (prioritizing as appropriate), investigating problems and developing remedial plans to resolve queries that have been escalated.
  • Provide accurate information in resolving any incidents, as well as reporting new incidents to Learning Supervisor.

As our Section Manager Plant Technicalyour responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Safety, Health, and Environment

  • Champion operate-for-reliability practices by supporting defect elimination, participating in RCAs, recommending controls/operating practices, and embedding learnings into standard routines with production teams.
  • Expert level of understanding of installed equipment and processes

Technical Knowledge

  • 6-8 years of experience, including post-graduate training in plant and production, and 3 years in a supervisory/management position.
  • Metallurgical expertise in plant design and operation, beneficiation technology optimisation, and technical input for producing saleable products.
  • Production accounting standards.
  • Metallurgical Process modelling (both steady state and dynamic).
  • Basic understanding of TSF operation and management standards.
  • Chemistry (For non-chemists: an essential awareness of chemistry, its applications, and the value it adds to their sub-discipline).
  • Proficiency in research methodologies and conducting studies.
  • Technical knowledge of process evaluation, plant audits, feasibility studies, and ad hoc projects.
  • Project management standards and techniques.
