The role of an HR Intern includes but is not limited to:
- Provide administration support for the full Recruitment cycle through:
O Prepare and post job adverts
O Review and screen CV’s
O In collaboration with the HC team, shortlist candidates in line with the selection
criteria
O Conduct screening interviews
O Conducting recruitment verification checks (e.g. Lexis Nexis, Background,
Reference etc.) and provide feedback to stakeholders.
O Book and coordinate logistical arrangements for the assessment and recruitment
process.
O Coordinate and support the onboarding process (e.g. cell phone data, medical aid,
Sanlam pension, employee identity cards) of all new employee i.e. checking and
capturing of appointment pack SAGE and ensure accuracy.
O Serve as a key contact for candidates throughout the attraction, interview and offer
stages.
- Capture and maintain employee data on SAGE and ensure data quality (e.g.
appointment
packs, employee relations packs, disciplinary warnings and other supporting
documentation etc.)
- Coordination and processing all employee HR documentation including new
engagements,
employee movements/relocation, promotions and terminations on the system within
agreed timeframes.
- Facilitate and support the off-boarding process by providing exit documentation to
relevant parties (Pension Fund Withdrawal Forms, Medical Aid, UI19).
- Coordinate and assist employees with arranging employee wellness sessions via the
LYRA (ICAS) programme (as and when necessary) - Implement, maintain, and review HR Admin processes, procedures, documents and
templates to ensure legal compliance.
- Liaise with the various HR departments/Centres of Excellence to source and compile
information, documentation, reports etc. - To assist the HR team with the recruitment lifecycle for all roles within the Council.
- Ensure all activities are performed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.
- To undertake specific HR work programs, projects and research as determined by
the HR Manager. - Assist the HR team with any ad hoc tasks, assignments and duties including minute
taking. - Assist HR Head with the scheduling of HR team meetings, drafting of agendas,
arranging venues, arranging lunch etc as and when required. - Take ownership and accountability of your own performance and self-development.
- Regular feedback and communication with HR Manager/HRP’s on important and
urgent business issues that requires input, direction or action
Requirements
- Matric or NQF 4 equivalent
- Relevant NQF 6 Human Resources / or Industrial Psychology qualification
- Applicant must be unemployed, and a South African Citizen by birth.
Remuneration Grade: (Stipend Salary will be paid)
The internship programme will run for a period of a year until 2025 and a monthly stipend will
be paid.
