Introduction

Develop and deliver training interventions and responsible for the application of the full training cycle in the mining discipline.

Job description

·      Determine training needs and standards in accordance with legislative requirements, national and industry standards. Liaise with Line Management with a Section and arrange to align training material with operational requirements.

·          Maintain training matrix – Needs & competencies on mining and TMM’s.

·          Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure.

·          Ensure line management is informed at all times regarding shortfalls on legal and competency training.

·          Represent the Operational Standards Committee and implement training and safety decisions.

·          Check and follow up on training interventions.  Perform trend analysis.

·          Participate in change initiaves and provide feedback on resistance.

·          Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standard.

·          Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate improvement initiatives and lead group discussions to solve problems.

·          Develop and maintain productive relations with internal and external customers.

·          Monitor training material to ensure alignment with legislative standards and industry best practice. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/2008 certification standards.

·          Conduct on-site moderation on registered assessors.

·          Control facilitators and coached daily activities on site.

·          Ensure quality of learning take place and is monitored at all times.

·          Ensure material developer is informed of any changes to learning material and procedures.

·          Ensure monthly training reports are submitted on time. Report any SHERQ deviations to line management.

·          Comply in terms with training to all SHERQ recruitments in line with mine health and safety act.

·          Comply with training budget to prevent over-expenditure for training.

Job description
