BURSAR – 1 November 2025

This is a full-time position and the successful candidate will report to the Board.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Bursar will oversee the full financial and administrative management of the College. Core functions include:

  • Strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Management and financial reporting, including audit preparation
  • Investment management
  • Payroll, purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Sundry sales, stock and asset management
  • Fund management and inter-company transactions
  • Balance sheet management, bank reconciliation and petty cash control
  • Financial risk management

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Management of debentures
  • Management of scholarships and bursary programmes in
    conjunction with the Headmaster
  • Oversight of the tuckshop and uniform shop
  • Management of transport logistics
  • Management of IT outsourcing
  • Oversight of administrative support systems

Skills and Attributes Required:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong financial accounting skills and the ability to manage large budgets effectively
  • Commercial and legal awareness
  • Strong information technology competence
  • Sound decision-making ability and proven leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of
    stakeholders
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English communication
  • Ability to learn, research and adapt easily
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise effectively

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an NQF Level 6 qualification or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ proven experience in a financial management role.

AFRIKAANS AND LIFE ORIENTATION TEACHER
JANUARY 2026

This is a full-time position and the successful candidate will report to the Academic Headmistress.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Being an enthusiastic and creative teacher able to create engaging lessons to stretch pupils abilities.
  • Having good IT skills and be comfortable using technology.
  • Having a thorough knowledge of IEB assessments.
  • Identify with the core values of the school.
  • Demonstrate an on-going commitment to his/her professional growth.
  • Being involved in clubs and societies.
  • Being part of pastoral care structures including being assigned a tutor group where the focus is on wellness and leadership.
  • Being involved with sports activities.

Requirements:

The minimum requirements for the post are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Afrikaans (or similar).
  • A professional post-graduate teaching qualification.
  • Proof of a SACE registration.
  • Police clearance.
  • A minimum of three years’ teaching experience Afrikaans and Life Orientation in the Senior and FET phase, preferably at an IEB school.
  • A passion for sharing the language with his or her students.
