1.1 Manager Internal Audit and Risk Management
Salary Scale: Task Grade 16 (R659 944 PER ANNUM excluding benefits)

Essential Requirements

  • Matric
  • BTech/Bachelor’s Degree in Auditing/Accounting
  • Extensive knowledge of internal Audit standards
  • Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors
  • Professional certification as, or studying towards the Certified Internal Auditor or Professional
    Internal Auditor, an added advantage
  • Valid Code B/EB Driver’s License.
  • Minimum of 5 years internal audit experience, of which 3 years should be as Internal Audit Manager
    or Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the internal audit strategies, operational plans, risk-based internal audit
    plans, IA methodology and Quality Assurance and improvement programme.
  • Manage the internal audit team and ensure its continuous development.
  • Report functionally to the Audit Committee and administratively to the Accounting Officer.
  • Support the Audit Committee in the execution of its mandate through the internal audit assurance
    and advisory deliverables.
  • Manage and direct the internal audit activities and plans to ensure consistency with Municipality’s
    goals, risk profile and audit universe.
  • Collaborate with management to strengthen the Municipality’s business and internal control
    environment.
  • Lead the risk management function of the Municipality to ensure sound ERM governance and
    effectiveness thereof
