RELIEF PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Context & Environment
In a production environment of continuous improvement. Maintain sound relationships across the L.M.P chain.
Activities
Productivity / Delivery
To ensure the safe, efficient, continuous operation of the lube & grease plant, and to effectively manage all the activities of the production plant according to the product requirements.
Effectively optimizing the use of production resources.
Manage and administration of production documents in terms of Safety, health and Environment.
Preparation and distribution of required production reports.
Responsible for the implementation of Waste Management Systems.
Finance
To manage and control overtime.
To control manufacturing variances within the acceptable limits.
Inventory Management
To ensure stock losses/gains are kept within acceptable tolerances.
HSEQ
To ensure all staff are in compliance with all HSEQ policies and procedures.
Maintain good housekeeping and the safety of the plant.
Knowledge of ISO 50001, IATF 16949, One Maestro and ISO 9001
Conduct safety and poster talks.
People Management
To set objectives and do staff appraisals /reviews.
Identify staff training needs and request in – house and external training.
Ensuring execution of routine Plant Safety Inspection.
Training of operators on Work instructions, tasks and procedures.
Candidate Profile
Diploma in production, Chem Eng or equivalent
Two years working experience in a production environment.
Two years experience in leading and managing in a unionised environment.
Good understand of the general operation of emergency response equipment.
Good organisation and planning skills.
Working knowledge of the SAP system.
Computer literate with MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

Activities
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality:
• Conduct and assist with the upkeep and conditions of all equipment through pre-use, daily, weekly and monthly routine inspections.
• Conduct daily start up and shut down routine inspections
• Prepare and execute Safety critical barrier, Inspections and Loop Testing if required
Stock Management:
• Ensure all cylinders are stacked and stored as per the storage requirement
• Assist with stock counts
• Verify out-bound and in-bound sheet, confirming quantities on truck are correct
• Conduct daily Safe to load inspections and upload documentation as per requirement (Cylinder trucks and Bulk)
• Reconcile books, invoices, trip sheets and delivery notes before truck leaves the depot
• Conduct and assist with all vehicle routine inspections
Cylinder Filling and Bulk Activities:
• Check condition of cylinders to be filled
• Fill cylinders to correct capacities
• Inspect filled cylinders
• Shrink wrap cylinders
• Forklift operations for loading and offloading of cylinders
• Record daily production
• Reconcile production with seals
• Assist with loading and offloading of bulk activities
Maintenance Activities:
Maintain a high quality and safety standard of all equipment with reference to SANS regulations and Total Standards
• Assist with fault finding of equipment
• Assist with Planned Maintenance
• Assist with breakdowns and Corrective Maintenance
• Assist with general maintenance at the depot
General:
• Assist with customer walk-ins and collection
• Assist with other duties as required by the Depot Manager
Candidate Profile
Trade certificate
2 Years’ Experience in LPG / Depot Maintenance / Stock Management
Knowledge And Experience in cylinder filling
Knowledge of vehicle management
Matric
Computer Literate
A good knowledge of relevant legislation that impacts on LPG distribution and installations for example OHS-Act, HAZCHEM and relevant SANS regulations
Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
High personal INTEGRITY and trustworthiness and reliability
Other:
Attend on – going training and develop relevant knowledge and personal skills as provided by the company
Any other activity instructed to perform.
Available and flexible to work after hours and weekend when required
